Re: Best loan signing

Does Michael Hector count? - We sold him to Chelsea then loaned him back immediately.

IIRC in the Robin Friday book there was a story about Reading trying to seem one of their goalkeepers but couldn't because he was actually on loan at Reading from Arsenal and the club had forgotten this fact

I used to work in Leeds on and off for a while. I thought it was a great City but bloody windy.

Yes they did, I chose to have an oval plaque with my seat number on and when it was there on my seat for the next game.

Re: PA Announcer

Strange for people to have a go after the Norwich game. The week before at Hull the atmosphere was dreadful, so clearly the announcer and the club wanted to do all they can to ensure that didn't happen again. Lo and behold, a bit more meat on the bones pre match and the atmosphere was significantly...

Below is a comical attempt by a spammer to get some "legit" posts and to become legitimised Elm Park is a suburban district in east London, England, and part of the London Borough of Havering. Located 14.3 miles (23.0 km) east-northeast of Charing Cross, it is identified as a district cent...

Meh, half of them are paid for already and a quarter wouldn't be filled most weeks regardless. IR's rules for management sacking: 1) Failure to achieve goals after three years 2) Serious danger of relegation to League One between December 10th and end Feb of the current season 3) Failure to show pr...

Forgot Antonio. Hed be a great RWB right now. Him on the right, Bertrand on the left, Carrico in DM, Gylfi in AMC and Long up front. (Of players still playing) Rest tbd. I think the idea is to take the reading versions back and not the after versions. Antonio has deffo flourished after rfc Come to ...

Re: What former players would you bring back?

Paul Brayson would be an improvement up front on what we currently have (Injured Kermorgant excluded).

If we had Dave Kitson from the 2005/6 season in the squad playing up front with the current squad now we would be winning games

Re: Theoretical: Sack Stam and replace with ...?

I'm all for giving managers time, but I'm not sure the end result will be worth it - If we play the same style better and achieve a points tally that will get us promoted/in the playoffs I'm still going to find it boring to watch. If we head into the relegation places and the manager is till too stu...

How long has the old PA announcer been back announcing games?

He was definitely there on Saturday for the Norwich game, A big improvement, less fake enthusiasm and annoying phrases like "Under the stewardship of".

Re: Phil Parky's blue and white army

I don't think Parky is the answer at the moment. I notice that bringing back Pardew has surfaced, although he would be better than Parky, Pards seems to have been out of the game too long in my opinion. I am backing Jaap for now. Give him a bit more time, it is not always better to chop and change ...

Re: What former players would you bring back?

If we could bring back players in their Reading prime, I would being back the entire 106 squad plus Gylfi, Le Fondre, N Hunt, Al Habsi. Kebe and Jason Roberts with Steve Coppell as manager, Nicky Hammond as DOF and Brian McDermott as chief scout/Spare manager I think this pretty much concludes the ...

Re: Theoretical: Sack Stam and replace with ...?

Who makes the call these days on which manager to employ? - In the past it was Nicky Hammond, Nigel Howe and John Madejski who identified targets and made the decision. I can't imagine any of them choosing someone like Neil Warnock or Harry Redknapp as they don't operate in the Reading way but since...

Re: Stam's comments - only a matter of time now

It's not really Stam's fault that the club can't/won't afford that [striker] It's his job to make sure we get the players we need. The Director of Football has to take some of the flack for this too, It's his job to actually sort the transfers out and manage the budget, maybe he underestimated what...
