Re: That Robin Friday goal, now visible on video (sort of)

I wasn't one of the 50,000 who claim to have been there, but I heard it was from the halfway line and he celebrated by knocking a row of policemen's helmets off and then rushing to the changing room to take a dump in Mark Lawrenson's kit bag and downing 4 pints of lager and a shot.

Green
1infoman If you need any other local info, just ask.

Can you describe the difference between a Bristol accent and one from Somerset?
Somerset accents tend to be a bit more slurred due to the amount of Cider they drink.

Re: Bristol City fan with local info Goodfriday

Casualty and Holby City were filmed in the City don't ask me about either of the programmes cos I think their both rubbish Do you happen to have twin called SpaceCruiser as that sounds like something he would say. I've been to Bristol City once, back in 2011 when we were 2-0 down before scoring 3 g...

Re: BFTG - Brentford

Has Gunter not shown over the past 2 games that he is certainly good enough? You could make the argument that he wasn't initially suited to the way Gomes wants us to play but he has not put a foot wrong over the last 2 games. Whether he would be worth keeping (or happy to stay) as a back-up is open...

Re: BFTG - Brentford

Ejaria MOTM for me, not only was he tackling and winning the ball but he seemed to be wearing Glen Little's magic boots as the ball was sticking to his feet at times when it really shouldn't have.

Rinamota and Ejaria - That's who I'd like to see the midfield built around,

Can you re-brand this as "BRING A PEN TO THE MATCH DAY" as that's often the biggest hurdle for me when it comes to casting a vote.

Re: The League of 4

I listened to the BBC Berks commentary Tim Dellor was on the money early on refusing to acknowledge we would stay up based on the gap we had when we went 1-0 up. Mick Gooding says the biggest worry is that Rotherham have a fighting spirit to win 2-1 after being hammered 6-1, He's not sure Reading wo...

I reckon it will go down to the wire and goal difference may be the decider.

Re: BFTG - PNE

Have just read the stats for the game and apparently we had just 36% of possession , 1 corner compared to their 7 and we had 2 more shots than them. IMHO it shows once more (Stam) that having the ball and doing nothing with it is nowhere near as good as not having the ball so much but being effecti...

NewCorkSeth Look, I love the "football manager" style, pipe dream signing as much as the next person but there is not a hope in hell we will get Martinez.
There's no chance if we don't at least look into the possibility.

Please provide evidence of this. On the basis that we secure championship status this initiative will remain and grow in 19/20. That is all you need to know. No it isn't all I need to know. I would like to know how its known Nigel Howe is a big supporter of it? Have you not seen him in the South St...

Nice quote in that article from Athletico Spizz
Athletico Spizz Gotta agree with this, even Kevin Doyle got given a decent run to get his scoring boots on.

“And Hibs are way above Div2 standard.

Which one? Mariappa only left because we got relegated, I am sure he would've gone on to have a good career with us if we had stayed up, backed up by the fact he has played consistent Premier League football since leaving us. I thought Mariappa was sold because he wasn't a right fit for the manager...

Every true RFC fan should be hugely grateful to Strap for his meticulous detail to the.... errrr, details regarding RFC. On another note, I live 3,500 miles away from the 'Ding and have been to nine matches so far this season including aways at Villa, 'Wall, QPR and Ipswich. Does that make me a sup...

Re: Financial Fair Play

So how do we go about getting the club fan owned and moving this ship back to Elm Park? 1. Get some money together 2. Make the current owners an offer too good to turn down That's the easy part, the more difficult part is actually running the club. The fans would be better off starting their own cl...

Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

^this. It is a drop in the ocean in the grand scheme of things. An extra £250k in the transfer kitty every season would certainly help, likewise having an extra £250k available for player wages might allow us to sigh better players. If we're at capacity, by all means sell more home seats in the Sou...

Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

Yes but it hasn't done that. The figures don't lie. Takes time for these things to build. If we weren't so inept behind the scenes during the summer/beginning of the season then it would probably be more popular. I'm not sure why any fan would want an increased number of away supporters visiting, d...

Re: Nine Very Difficult Games - Predictions?

A caller to BBC Berks on Saturday made the (perhaps obvious) point. It's now an 8 game season and we have to outscore Rotherham to stay up. Looking at the league table, that sounds about right. Ipswich are as good as down, Bolton are in trouble but it's Rotherham who look like the biggest threat to ...
