Re: Green park station/south Reading station

I'm not saying it's a bad thing, but I'd like to know how the developers pull together these stats and whether there is anyway to measure them? In your eyes does the country only have a set number of jobs available at any one time? You can't imagine new investment and infrastructure creating jobs w...

Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

Maybe the Club1871 lot should sit back amongst the fans and try to inject some enthusiasm into the crowd rather than try to be the crowd/alienate theirselves from some of the fans? It would also help to not sit the club1871 fans next to the loudest fans in the ground - the away fans, who can drown o...

Re: Green park station/south Reading station

Reading Green Park will receive £2.3m towards a total project cost of £16.5m with the DFT saying it "has the potential to unlock 7,500 new jobs and 1,500 homes". I can understand it might create some jobs for people working at the station, but seriously how is it going to unlock 7,500 new...

Re: Gourlay

At the Star meeting Clement said he needs two or three more windows to get everything right, supporters want it did done yesterday, Whether Gourley gives him that time is another matter. Progress will do, we're not expecting perfection just the ability to win by any means necessary and climb out of...

Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

I've noticed a few times Club 1871 doing things they said they were not going to do, instead of cheering on/supporting the lads they were having a sing off with the away fans and also singing the names of players not actually on the pitch playing..... Yes, by all means sing a song for Paul McShane i...

Re: Loudest ever away fans at Mad Stad?

Stoke singing Delilah just before kick off when they had the entire away end.

Other than that, probably a play off final where both teams had something to play for

Re: Do we really have billionaire owners?

You don't become and remain a billionaire business person by throwing money at problems. They bought the club, the price they paid is history and not relevant to their future decision making. They may decide it's best to cut their loses, take whatever offer is on the table from elsewhere and invest ...

Re: My first rumour report. Things not well at Reading.

Is Madejski really too poor/uninterested to buy the club back and get it on some kind of decent footing? He can't take the money with him and there's no spouse to think about. Think he's lost a lot of money according to this video: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-england-berkshire-27418445/reading...

Re: Gourlay

I am disappointed with you not going. I wanted you to go and cause a massive scene. Scare all of those old codgers in STAR. I know, I know. Work man. Horrible invention. Does the Bush guy not post on here? He must have gone. Bushwatch started on here, long before # were a thing. He was then poached...

Alright Bournemouth fan. You mates with Reading4eva?

Re: Madejski Out

If sir John had just taken the risk and invested in our great 2006 side we could have been a Bournemouth or Brighton, instead he was scared of the huge costs of sustaining PL survival. I still don't believe all that TV money went out on wages, Bournemouth get crowds of 11.000 for Christ sake. it wa...

Re: Where have the hardcore gone? Culture loss.

Towards the end of games where we're trailing by one goal, I tend to find myself wishing the time away so I can go home for dinner because the team tend to show nothing that suggests to me we're going to surge forward and get a late equaliser. Attending a match isn't a 90 minute commitment, the loca...

Re: Where have the hardcore gone? Culture loss.

If you're the winning team or a neutral yeah. As a Reading fan it was awful, I hated it of course, but at least it made you FEEL something... and I bet you didn't h8 the bit where we 4 goals up. i bet you oxf*rd loved that. that was one of the greatest feelings ever, and that still counts, despite ...

Re: Madejski Out

So.... those who, over the years voiced a desire for Sir John to step aside and let rich owners take over..... How's that worked out? Anton came from a rich family... but had his pocket money stopped The Thai's had loads of money and wanted to hang onto it/make more from the land The Chinese are lo...
