It's surprising how quickly they adapted their game and fitted in with the performance levels of the rest of squad.

Reading v Millwall, I'm looking forward to seeing

A pile of bricks conveniently laid out by Reading FC next to the steps of death for the away fans to throw at the kids outside the East Stand Stewards busy protecting the chairman's car as families run in terror Bobby Convey running through the entire Millwall team twice before scoring The Millwall ...

Re: Gourlay

I'd argue you're just as shit a CEO if you give your football staff carte blanche to hand out whatever contracts they want and sign anyone without you intervention as if you sign players and contracts without their input. It's the CEO's job to make sure the club is operating within its budget and n...

Re: Solutions to problems (instead of moaning)

This afternoon I watched the youtube video of our record breaking 106 season, (all 2 hours 50 minutes of it) and it`s easy to forget the brilliant wingers we had then in Little Convey and Stephen Hunt. of course they had Murty and Shorey to link up with them, not ashamed to say it made me emotional...

Re: Gourlay

OK, Gourlay may not have initiated these howlers (although its almost certain it was him), but he signed them off; which is indicative of what a total non footballing person he is: New contracts for: Jakkola :OK he might have panicked about getting a back up goalie, pre season-but back up goalies ,...

Re: Gourlay

Shirt sponsorship is down to carabao having a veto on other visible sponsors due to the contract as primary partners. Looks like the Thai's stiffed us on that one. I don’t think that’s true, I’m pretty sure we’ve had sponsors on the back the last few seasons (Cherwell?) Exactly. And there was Euro ...

Re: Solutions to problems (instead of moaning)

Maybe a team bonding session will help get the team playing better together ?

Lose any hangers on moping around unhappy about not being selected - If they're not going to feature in the first team squad just pay up their contract/get them out on loan somewhere.

Re: Gourlay

“We’re tied in on the confidentiality side on this, we are tied into some commercial deals,” said Gourlay, “We don’t have the ability to unlock these at the present time, but you will see changes from the start of next season.” Based on the way the team are playing, I would expect most of the adver...

Re: Solutions to problems (instead of moaning)

Losing a game? - Bring on some injured players as subs and then hope we end up with fewer than 7 players on the pitch to get the game abandoned (See Battle of Bramall Lane).

Fan expectations/patience/general unhappiness or indifference - Owners issue a statement of intentions/game plan, Be more open - actually admit things are bad rather than try to suppress any bad news. Atmosphere & Attendance - Reduce ticket prices & offer some incentive to season ticket hold...

Solutions to problems (instead of moaning)

Do we have any realistic solutions to problems? If so, state the problem and share any solutions without repeating one already listed. Injuries - Review training regimes and review medical staff Fitness - Same as above really Motivation - Get someone with passion in tasked with doing just this (Like...

Re: Gourlay

I'd be surprised if the Carabao restrictions surrounded anything more than advertising their rivals, They wouldn't for example be too happy if we were playing in the Red Bull stadium with every seat decked out like a can of Red Bull, plus potentially anything that could bring their brand into disrep...

Re: Will going down be a bad thing? poll added.

What makes you think that squad would tear up a league of hungrier, more committed, better organised players? The solution to our current predicament may be to sign some of these league 1 players who will play their socks off at this level to prove they deserve to be here. .... Wasn't Adam Le Fondr...

The disgruntled ex-staff members could be the office equivalents of Joey Van Den Berg, they did a job but not the job we actually need and the new boss decides to move them on... or indeed, like Jaap Stam, unable to achieve the goals the club set despite having had their full backing, Of course, the...

What are the views of STAR? - Do the board have the desire to make their views heard in an official statement or are they too close to the club and don't want to rock their relationship?

Do STAR members actually feed back to the club their views? If not, do it - Let them be your voice.

Re: Gourlay

I wonder what Howe and Madejski think of all of this? They cannot be happy or comfortable with what is going on. Madejski cares about his legacy, However he may also be glad that he's not in the firing line himself this time around. Howe probably isn't bothered so much but he may also be quite happ...
