Re: Forum

Invite Kia? - He'll be too busy negotiating the fee for Gomes appearance at the thing as rumours appear in the media linking him with other fans forums.

Re: CONFIMRED José Gomes

Thought Saturdays subs were interesting. Would have expected more defensive ones to secure the points. Glad he didn't - the most crowd-pleasing and positive way to secure the points against 10 men is to get more goals. Considering we were relegated on a goal difference not so long ago, the more goa...

constantly amazed by how different people can view the same events so differently but then I guess that's pretty much this whole board/all football discussion That's one reason why live games are so much better than watching on tv, everyone has a different vantage point and nobody see's the same th...

Re: Stadium screens

There was talk while Gourlay was CEO of removing the screen and putting seats in its place which is a tiny increase in capacity as the original seats were squeezed in elsewhere around the back rows, and then two knew screens fitted to the front of the Dolan and South stands with sponsor panels eith...

Just had a browse down the list, which was in a seemingly random order (why not make it alphabetical?)..... No win for me

I did spot the name of Andy Murray, one to add to our celebrity fans wikipedia page :?:

Re: Lewis baker

I believe that under FIFA Rules a loan longer than 1 year technically counts as a 'permanent ' deal. But the original club keeps ultimate ownership of the loaned player. The only implication I can find is that a player on a long loan can be loaned out again by the club to which he is on loan. So if...

Sounds like a return to the old Reading ways, We did the same to John Salako when Howe was in charge.

Re: Clear out started

I'm really disappointed about how Mannone has been treated. Whilst technically correct we can do what we like with our players and it's a good idea to separate first teamers from moaners, get them off the wage bill etc, poor old Mannone has had a tough time. He's not only lost his mum. he had alrea...

Re: Clear out started

Tiger said in a meeting with the fans in the summer of 2016 that a lot of the players 'didn't respect' McDermott and that was one reason they decided to make a change. In hindsight, I hope he realises he should have changed the players not the manager. I imagine Brian McDermott was getting them to ...

Re: Clear out started

Good to see Gomes having a go at restructuring the squad but I thought the whole idea of the summer was to restructure? I think it's fair to say the restructuring last Summer wasn't a success, so no point waiting until next Summer to try and address that. My concern is that we have to sell/get rid ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Manchester United (a) sponsored by down down deeper and down

If we play a blinder and come out of the game with something, I'm not sure how I'd feel - probably happy that we've done so well and can play but also angry that the players haven't done so in the league. I'm thinking of the almost perfectly executed tactics and performance under Clarke against Arse...

Re: Is this the worst Royals squad ever? Who would you keep?

Yiadom - Has looked good at times
Bodvardsson - Top goals per minutes
Obita - I'd give him a chance once he's fit again
Kelly - One of our own, can still offer something

Other than that, I'd be prepared to let them all go as long as we can secure better replacements.

Re: New Manager

The new manager should be allowed to bed in and come up with a plan to avoid relegation, There should also be a review of the entire playing squad, coaches and supporting staff. The manager will then say which players can go now, which will need to be replaced/upgraded and which ones to keep if we a...

The Chronicle has Parky as favourite now that the Portugese chappy has turned us down, apparently the club have been in contact with him and as he's on a 12 mth rolling contract with Bolton he won't cost too much to get.

At least Howe doesn't mess around.

I predict a return to "The Reading way" of doing things...... Nicky Hammond back anyone? (the way things are going, I wouldn't be surprised if he's back before I even press the submit button)
