Re: Promotion: Yea or Nay

We were desperately unlucky against Newcastle, Brentford and Fulham. If we'd have won those games, as we should have, we'd be top now (and also in the 4th round of the FA cup and in the SF of the League cup). Our abysmal luck has to change soon!!

Re: Promotion: Yea or Nay

I think we will go up this year. I've seen a steady improvement in the way the team plays using the current system, from AFC Wimbledon to now. We shouldn't be discouraged by the comprehensive defeats against Arsenal and United, we will struggle against these teams next season as well, and they won't...

Re: BFTG - United (A)

I only saw it on TV. While they were waiting in the tunnel before coming on, the whole team looked incredibly nervous. This was evident for the first half, at least the first 20 minutes. After that, we played a bit better at times in the first half. Evans was good, as was Kelly, and AAH made a few g...

I was born in Middlesbrough and lived there until I was about 10 weeks old when we moved to Germany (my Dad was in the Army).Travelled around a fair bit and lived in NW London for a while. My Dad, who was an Arsenal fan, took me and my brother to Highbury a couple of times, but it just didn't click! ...

2016 - Leicester win PL.

2016 - Henry 1 found in Reading car park.
2018 - Reading promoted to PL.
2020 - Reading win PL.

It's fate - nothing we can do about it!!

+1.
The 7-5 against Arsenal was an exciting game. Give me 'boring' 3-0 win against Burton very time.

Re: BFTG - Burton

I'm really surprised by Schards saying he thinks it's boring. If we remember the last two seasons, our defence was really brittle. Last season, in particular, we gave away so many goals due simply to the disorganisation in defence. We are very much a WIP at the moment, and the first thing Stam saw w...

Re: BFTG - Burton

We are still very much a WIP and, in my opinion, we are improving all the time, while not yet being the finished article.. But we will get there!! We haven't got the sort of players that will constantly play well in the style they are. We make mistakes, but these tend to be individual mistakes made ...

Re: BFTG - Burton

Forest all over again. Bossed by a poor team for most of the game but again managed to get two goals in front. Gifted a third via an own goal at the end. Once again they had more shots and shots on target than we did and the three at the back looked shaky all game. In fact the starting formation wa...

Re: Fair play to the club

Serious question. If you accuse a catholic of being in the IRA, is that racism? It's about as stupid as accusing a Protestant of being in the IRA. As most reasonably intelligent people know, Daesh are an extreme perversion of the Sunni branch of Islam. The majority of Omanis are not Sunnis. I wasn'...

Re: Fair play to the club

I was walking down Holloway Road going to my car and looking on maps on my phone. A voice behind me asked if I knew where the nearest Police Station was. I said that I was a Reading fan and didn't know. I asked him why and he said that his mate had been arrested. I asked him why and he said that him...

Re: Amazing Support

It was very moving last night. I thought that maybe with the death of the Thai King, it wouldn't be done. The Thai King silence before the game was more a mark of respect to the owners, and was done well. There were a couple of Villa fans who tried to ruin it, but the sound of other Villa fans sayin...

Re: BFTG Villa

I was chatting to a Villa fan in the car park after the game, and he said that all we're missing is a 'Cutting Edge'. In the second half, we played well in midfield and on the wings, but just didn't have anyone who could take advantage of this. I'm sure that Stam is aware of this, and is now looking...

Re: A funny thing happened to me on the way to the game.....

I was on the way to the Bristol Rovers home game at Mad Stad with my sons and got chatting to a Rovers fan. It was a bit of a building site then. I jumped over a small wall and tripped. The Rovers fan asked if I was OK and through gritted teeth I said I was. My knee hurt like oxf*rd, but I wasn't go...

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

I wonder if Brighton let fans watch their training sessions, and which day do the team perfect their fouling on the blind side of the ref, and over reacting techniques which are such a big part of their game. As far as I could see, the Kermie tackle was the only time they didn't over react (and Rose...
