Let's Barnstorm Barnsley!

OK a week on Saturday could be the season's defining game for us, or indeed for Barnsley for the matter of that. Imagine if we could take 2,000 fans up there, what a lift it would give the players in this crucial match. So C'MON URZ! let's take 20 coaches up there and stick it up 'em! Oh, and there'...

Uke Is this the first match where the two number fours have the same name and have both played for Reading?

Re: Confimred loan - Ovie Ejaria

Rodgers himself said that his failure at Reading taught him how to build a more progressive side at Swansea. I think that sacking turned out OK for all involved. By "build a more progessive side", do you mean inherited a pre-assembled play-off ready squad? I agree with your general point ...

Re: Ex Players

Sutekh Danny Loader is now expected to join FC Porto according to the Mail. 3 year deal worth £1m per season apparently. Good for him, hope he makes it.

I'm assuming this is an auto correct error and you meant to say Port Vale...

Re: Reading players out of contract in summer 2020

I think Loader is being well advised by his Agent here. Having failed to make the progession from youth/U23 to first team, they both know that this is the one and only opportunity to cash in on his "potential". Yes, he'll go to a bigger club, get a fat signing on fee and more wages. Then h...

Re: BFTG Hull.

There are not enough flat mouthed emogies on the Internet to express the meh-ness of yesterday's match. Two poor teams playing out a poor game in a half empty stadium in February. Has to be the most uninspiring match day experience ever. We have become less than the sum of our parts and Bowen is goi...

Bristol Paul Thought his finishing looked quite good here

Observations :

The pitches in China look shit so he should be able to play on ours.
Don't they use the offside rule in China?

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

Yes, felt like a defeat, but would have taken that result at 3pm. But really, even though our record there isn't good, I consider Reading a third division club playing above their natural level and expect a win every time we go there. Just me I suppose. Not a bad day out though. This suits us...

Re: Gomes, Should he stay or should he go? Mk2

I'm strangely ambivalent about the whole thing. With Stam, Brian and Atkins I had strong opinions but with Jose I just think it was a bizarre appointment in the first place and so never really bought into it. Lovely guy, not his fault he was approached by Reading and appointed to a job where he almo...

Re: Gomes, Should he stay or should he go? Mk2

I'm absolutely certain Gomes will be a good manager, but he needs to accept that the 3 men at at the back are making one big error per match too many. I was Rodgers in, Adkins in, Stam in and I'm Gomes in. FTR, I was McDermot out, Clarke out, and Clement out. Hmm. IMHO Rodgers was totally out of hi...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Bristol City (a) sponsored by hopeless causes

Ascotexgunner Wonder if he has the balls to swallow his pride and play Baldock up front or put him on the bench. He can't do much worse and would have quite a point to prove.

Re: BFTG - Charlton

I remember Charlton being top of premier league at the end of August one year, think it was their first season up there. They ended up being relegated in May. Can't see that happening this season but cant see them finishing in the top half either. Agree. Charlton are nothing more than bang average....

Re: BFTG - Charlton

First half very niggly game, no momentum from either side, just kept giving the ball away to each other. Not an enjoyable watch by any means but we should have gone in 1-0 up if it wasn't for Puscas' miss. Second half, don't even get me started. Total capitulation from the first whistle. I'm actuall...

Re: BFTG - Sheffield

It really is something for a team without a manager to totally destroy Gomes tactically. Is it? Really? I'm not going to use the old cliché about Gomes being tactically naive because I don't believe that to be true. It's far worse than that, he's tactically unaware. Seems like a really nice fella b...

Terrible decision. Immense talent, just needed the right nurturing and a positive role in the team. I worry about our future as a club when things like this happen.

That offside decision for their goal was harsh though. Back end of a heel when moving away from goal. Hmm :|
