Re: The Non - League thread

So, how long before the whole Billericay Town thing goes spectacularly wrong? Did a bit of Due Dil on the owner for the fun of it a few months back and it doesn't paint a pretty picture I can tell you. Looks like this is all just one big 'look at me'. In what way? I've only heard his name and read ...

Re: The generic transfer thread

I don't disagree - but it's a big leap for the sake of 15 CL games a season. They are already the best side in France (Monaco's one-off not withstanding). Maybe so, but what's he got to gain by staying at Barca and always playing second fiddle to Messi (and potentially Suarez). The CL is where repu...

Re: The generic transfer thread

Imagine leaving a club like Barcelona because they have better players than you and you want to be the main man, only to go the French League  Certainly reveals the greedy players. There's no case to be made for Neymar going there other than purely for money. There is a case, in that he wants ...

Re: CheLOLsea

I'm a bit of a football romantic - I imagine were I a player I'd want to play for my local side - or certainly if I'd established myself somewhere after somewhat of a breakthrough season, I'd want to become synonymous with that club. I guess for Hector he's happy with a season in Frankfurt and one ...

Re: The generic transfer thread

I quite liked watching Norwood play, especially his early days when he was a refreshing change to the type of midfield play we'd seen for some time. He was like a poor-mans Simon Osborn but didn't quite have the end product.

A decent player and always seemed like a good lad too.

Re: The Non - League thread

Talent wise I doubt there will be any stronger squad in the Hellenic but 75% of the starters will be teenagers and as we know, you win nowt with kids. That's an interesting and bold statement RR. Why do you think they're that good, and how do you define talented? There's lots of players with a good...

Re: The generic transfer thread

Hull set to sign Kevin Stewart for £8m from Liverpool. Who the fcuk is Kevin Stewart? I am starting to wonder if many of these transfers are not just money laundering right in front of our eyes. no one has heard of the players yet all internet spods instantly claim he is decent so as to look itk. a...

What's the feeling at Windsor around the switch to the Hellenic RR?

A good thing? Or a pain in the backside?

I think the point would be that none of those players are left backs.

Re: The generic transfer thread

Chalobah signs for Watford in a five year for a fee in the region of £5m. I hope there is a buy back clause in the contract. R8 him. Not a fan to be honest. Obviously a talented lad, but he's far too inconsistent and looks to me like he just can't be bothered at times (based a lot on his games for ...

A 1-0 win yesterday, thanks to an injury time winner, put England into the final against Portugal who beat Netherlands 1-0 in the other semi.

U19s have also now made the semi-finals of the Euro Championships for their age group with a 4-1 win over Germany in their final group game. It means they've won all 3 games (also beating the Dutch and Bulgarians) and knocked Germany out. They'll play Czech Rep on Wednesday evening for a place in th...

Re: The generic transfer thread

There are a few reports about that Ruben Loftus-Cheek will be joining a Premier League team on loan this season in order to actually play some proper games of football. About time really. He's 21 now and probably should've been in a first team for 2 or 3 years and have 150 appearances to his name ju...

Chelsea match Man United 75 mill offer for Lukaku! Could a twist in the tale happen? £75m for a player that Jake Cooper kept in his pocket   75 million for one of the finest young strikers the premier league has ever had. - 104 goals in 184 starts - Evertons record premier league goalsc...

Re: England U 21s

Totally agree, it's all about taking good youth players and training them on to become top end Premier League, Champions League and International players. We might've won a few more tournaments of late but personally I don't see much difference in the quality of the players or teams we're producing ...

out on pens It had to be. Never mind, they have shown huge potential. Let us hope that they can progress and achieve senior success. Huge potential? Re: The generic transfer thread

Disagree. You can buy a player for £50m, he turns out to be rubbish, you let him go for £25m. That isn't a good signing. For me that's just a bad outcome, not necessarily a bad signing. If that £50m player was the best young centre back around, potentially worth £75m, and your side was crying out f...

Re: The generic transfer thread

Hughes to Watford is great for everybody who isn't Derby. Since McAnuff got his chance I had him as a contender for 'best player who hasn't played in the Premier League'. I'd agree. A very tidy little player who could really kick on and impress people if things go his way. People still doing the 'g...
