Re: MATCHWATCH : Nottingham Forest (h) sponsored by Steve Stone

Fox was his own worst enemy in that game and got himself sent off, imo. Yet, it's almost as if some are feeling worse bout that, and criticizing Moore for 'running over and getting involved', than if one of our own had got set sent of. Put it this way, if Moore (or any of our lads) gets an opponent ...

Let's hope for extra time, the odd sending-off and injury.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Derby County (a) sponsored by Yakubu

Yep, you make some good points. Don’t know anyone who thinks we had an ‘awesome’ team 2 years ago. I don’t know anyone who expected to have one, either. Unsurprisingly, it had some flaws and weaknesses. Anyway, that’s all been said. Derby, away, I think we’re going to have to play well to win. Or, m...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Derby County (a) sponsored by Yakubu

Derby really aren't great, they have 1 win in 7, one good run in October/November time aside, they've been completely average all season and their first half performance at the Mad Stad is the worst I've seen in a long time, even worse than Hull and Forest last week. We always seem to do OK up ther...

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

Lolz, it’s all Clement’s fault! (Btw, hope May comes back with more than Cameron did:)) I’m not sure what’s more idiotic. Trump or Brexit. KPOTTB Quite right, and well said. I still smile at the Hobnobber comment from years ago at A Forest fan who came on after losing here to say ‘At least we have ...

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

I think we will see an extension of Article 50 as May goes back to Brussels yet again.I don’t think we will get a second Referendum under this Government nor is a General Election likely. In the end I can see a soft Brexit being negotiated which will include our staying in the Customs Union meaning...

Re: BFTG Forest Home

He was involved in other good moves as well as the assist, but unfortunately invariably made the wrong decision or executed it poorly. Straight off the top of my head there was: First half - his shot from outside the box in a central position which the goalie made a meal of by palming round the pos...

Re: CONFIMRED José Gomes

Thought Saturdays subs were interesting. Would have expected more defensive ones to secure the points. Glad he didn't - the most crowd-pleasing and positive way to secure the points against 10 men is to get more goals. Nah, maybe a few more defenders would have better enabled us to keep possession,...

Re: Tiago llori

Am I the only one who thinks illori is a decent CB and worth more than £3 million...? In which league? His 'worth' might be tied to that. As Victor says, may be in the wrong league. The Champ isn't for everyone. He doesn't fit the profile of Champ CB's. He suits Gomes' style, but think he - and we ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Nottingham Forest (h) sponsored by Steve Stone

So how are the newbies doing? Uke, the new arrivals showed well today, and given it was only their first game, they played with some confidence. Lively, some good movement and passing, a few tricks here and there. They certainly added something to our game today. Very early doors yet of course, but...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Nottingham Forest (h) sponsored by Steve Stone

Excellent move with quick incisive passing, and a well worked goal, Swift good pass to Barrow, who does well down the right, and plays nice low cross in to Swift who had continued his run in to the box, and with a tidy finish beats the keeper with his right foot, low in to far corner. We've shaded i...

Interesting to hear Howe say that Baker has been on their radar for 'a number of years'.
That being the case, then Baker's acquisition now, isn't necessarily tied exclusively to Gomes.

Re: spaculation - joe hart

I agree with you on the whole but I don't agree with the "when the oportunity arises" policy. That's what's left us with a lob sided squad with inadequate fullback cover for the past 4 years. I'd much rather identify the needs, address them first and then if the opportunity arises.... Yep...

Re: spaculation - joe hart

I don't think the issue is whether Hart would be an upgrade (clearly he would be) but more that we have more pressing areas of the team to strengthen. I hear you. I actually wasn't one of those that identified GK as a need. But since some did, and Harte's name came up in a thread, I said I'd be ok ...

Re: spaculation - joe hart

Right, but right now, if we're unable to find and sign such a keeper at this time, then Hart on loan would still upgrade the position and may help keep us up, imo, and we could then address getting a long term ball-playing keeper later. On his wages though? Is Jaakkola that bad of a shot stopper? T...

Re: Clear out started

I'm sure someone psoted elsewhere (Twitter perhaps) that Mannone is on 48 appearances and the reason he's been exiled is to ensure we don;t trigger an appearance based fee. Sounds like a return to the old Reading ways, We did the same to John Salako when Howe was in charge. 'We want our Reading bac...
