Re: Starting XI

Is there ANYONE who disagrees with the following? -Bodvarsson must start -Richards must start -On form, Illori and Moore are he best two centre backs -Bacuna must start, and preferably in central midfield -Popa deserves a start -Barrow is a shoe-in on the left of the front 3 -Mannone is our best ke...

Re: Reading v Stevenage FA CUP Prediction Thread

Reading 0 Stevenage 3 Div 2 Striker 10 Div 2 Midfielder 32 Div 2 Defender 65 Stam says he knew this would be a tough game as Stevenage are a good side. Tim Dellor asks if starting with a striker or bringing on one of the two on the bench might have produced at least one shot on target. Stam walks ou...

Re: CONFIMRED - Adrian Popa

Has he made too many forward passes or crossed the half way line once too often? Is this what counts for “attitude” these days? Could it just be the fact he didn’t cost £7m? Whatever it is, I wish him well at his next club and hope tonight helped put him in the shop window. He’s clearly wasted in th...

Re: Moore or striker?

Striker, no brainer, but we could have got one for the £7m we paid for Aluko and used the more effective Popa on the wing. Agreed we can't keep hold of Moore (and others, too, possibly) but what decent striker with more than 3 brain cells would want to come here over any Champ club still in with a ...

Re: Moore or striker?

WTF. £12M???? Yes. What were you hoping to see? maybe I am out of touch with football transfer fee's, but I assumed a defender in a team struggling to avoid the drop down to the 3rd tier might go for a bit less than £12M Not long ago that would have been the case but from what we've seen so far thi...

So, as long we are relegated in an orderly fashion with Japp at the helm, that's all fine and dandy.

Re: BFTG - Stevenage

One of the main reasons I have attended just one game in the last 2 months is that I don't blame the players and don't wish to take my frustrations out on them. I'm not Chris Gunter's greatest fan but totally respected the response he gave after getting stick at The Mad Stad recently. He said if the...

Re: In or Out? New poll.

It's really no surprise thatour defence is a shambles, when the full backs are instructed to spend most of their time over the half way line, and still be expected to get back and defend, the centrebacks are instructed to spend most of the game 20-50 yards apart, the central midfield and wide forwa...

Whatever the settlement figure, it won't be the full term of the contract but even £3m would be cheap compared to what we paid for Aluko

Out and happy to drive him to wherever he wants to be dropped. If they're vaguely interested, the likes of Brian McDermott and Wally Downes must be looking on in disbelief :| In recent years we have enjoyed much success while managed by lesser names forced to work on a shoestring. Downes wasn't a wo...

More of the same ineffective sh*te we've grown accustomed to. Japp keeps his job and Liam packs his bag.

If that's the case, we should be doing so without the manager who created this sad state of affairs with one of the most talented squads in our history.

Re: In or Out?

The football fan in me says the team selections, performances and results have not been consistent enough and ultimately the buck stops with the manager. Unless there is drastic improvement, there is a danger of this going off the rails. The project manager in me says this is a five year project, w...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Sheffield Wednesday (h) sponsored by a Saturday home win

Didn't go today and reliably informed I made the right choice. We appear poorly coached and set up from back to front. If our training excels at anything it's injuring our own players :| Japp Stam was, without question, one of the best defenders to grace the Premiership yet ours, under his guidance,...

Re: 9 games to the New Year

So much seems to depend on whether we can keep Bod/Yann fit until January, and then hopefully pick up another striker (my money is on Hugill) Keeping Bod fit is irrelevant if his manager insists on leaving him on the bench. Even against Wolves, when when 2-0 down, we played for 10mins without a rec...
