you're arguement is that you don't think Oster is third choice, which he most likely is due to the way he has played for Reading under Steve Coppell so far If you were manager of RFC it's quite clear that Oster would be 3rd choice but , thankfully, that is not the case and we haven't wasted a years...

FWIW, I would have made the Upper west a bit dearer.

It might just give you an insight into how he rates the two players though, considering Glen was an automatic choice to start even when he wasn't 100% fit. Do you not agree? Convey wasn't first choice at left wing in his first season with us, but started last season as first choice. Things change a...

My main point is that neither Coppell or Oster would have wanted the latters contract extended if it was a foregone conclusion that he would be 3rd choice. Little has just had his best season ever and Oster rightly had to take 2nd place but that doesn't mean that either, this will also be the case n...

I feel sure that you believe there are fairies at the bottom of your garden. Considering it was the same manager selecting from the same players I can't see how you can say last seasons pecking order is irrelevant. This may seem strange, but most managers pick their team on merit and Steve Coppell m...

Oster isn't 3rd choice just like no one else in our first team squad is 3rd choice before the season has even started, and, as I've now said several times, I don't believe that either Coppell or the man himself would have agreed to a contract exention if that was the case. Oster will be doing his be...

I think those observations regarding Convey's first season says much about your judgement whilst offering undue praise to countless players past and present.

Frankly, I think Seol is going to start somewhere but Coppell will not have kept Oster without rating him far higher than some of the garbage on this thread seems to suggest. As I said before, our manager doesn't sign 3rd choices and Oster is only here because Coppell feels he has a part to play, an...

If that was the case he would not have been offered a new contract. He has Premiership experience and WILL be picked on merit. Did I say otherwise? I'm sure he'll be picked on merit, but unless something happens to the other two wingers that merit will almost certainly see him as third in the pecki...

I credit Steve Coppell with the sense not to relegate one of the few player we have with Prem experience to 3rd choice before a ball has been kicked........................shame we can't say the same about many of our fans. I think you're taking this lets be positive everyone of our players is grea...

So? You were implying he had more experience and should thus not be 'relegated to third choice'. He WILL be third choice, whatever your delusions. Er no, I was implying that Steve Coppell has a squad of players, some of whom have more experience than others, but that he will have more sense than so...

Re: oster??

Getting good balls into the box, will lead to goals and he is also competition for Seol. Seol gets an injury then we have back up. Oster got a lot of slate last season from a lot of fans, and there where times where i could see their point, but its not as if hes over loading the wage bill. Get anot...

Physically, which is where Kitson sometimes struggles, 46 games amongst the Championship cloggers is tougher than 38 games against the Premiership elite.

Surely this is the one thing that should be easier to cope with in the Premiership than the Championship................8 less games to start with :?

My tuppence worth - Kitson has been our top scorer for the last two seasons, made the step up two divisions with ease and (imho) is underrated in terms of his ability on the ground; I like the way he holds up the ball. I think that after all he has achieved for us he deserves a little better than t...

I'm laughing just reading these replies  Given that Swindon fans have had so very little to laugh about in recent times, I hope all Reading supporters can find it in their hearts to make allowances for neighbours who have fallen on hard times. Or not, as the case may be.

Given just how many Reading fans have been proved wrong about (and this is just a few from a very long list) Kitson, Convey and Sonko, I'm amazed by just how many "experts" want to right off players at any particular level before they've kicked a ball in anger :? It must be high time we ha...
