Re: MATCHWATCH : Sheffield Wednesday (h) sponsored by a Saturday home win

Didn't go today and reliably informed I made the right choice. We appear poorly coached and set up from back to front. If our training excels at anything it's injuring our own players :| Japp Stam was, without question, one of the best defenders to grace the Premiership yet ours, under his guidance,...

Re: 9 games to the New Year

So much seems to depend on whether we can keep Bod/Yann fit until January, and then hopefully pick up another striker (my money is on Hugill) Keeping Bod fit is irrelevant if his manager insists on leaving him on the bench. Even against Wolves, when when 2-0 down, we played for 10mins without a rec...

Re: Best goal scored at the Mad Stad

IT’s Convey against Millwall. Goals by the opposition come hehind every goal we’ve scored, in joint last place.... +1 How it missed out on goal of the season beggars belief. It missed out because Glenn Little did this https://youtu.be/Q68ch5w8sFY I was a huge Little fan, and he didn't score many, b...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Derby County (a) sponsored by first half away goal search

Aaarrrggghhh Beerens up front again. Why Jaap why? Suppose all can hope for is keep it at 0-0 until Yann comes on We get so many injuries.... Does Stam really want this job or is he just looking for a way out? What the fcuk has Beeren's done in the last 12 month  If I was Popa, I'd have had t...

Re: What is wrong?

Didn't go yesterday, sure as hell won't be there Tuesday and wouldn't place any money on Stam being there either. To state the obvious, all that we're experiencing currently is typical of what happens when the wheels come off a club management. Tim Dellor said it felt like the end of an era and I co...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Middlesbrough (h) sponsored by fat ladies being asked about their availability

Given their current form, tomorrow's opponents might be one of the few teams in this division who could find a way to lose to Stam's strikerless team. On the other hand, given how few chances we create and his insistence on playing a front 3 that has one? goal between them, 'brough have a real chanc...

Re: Sheffield Utd - Back from the game

I thought we’d turned a corner last week but now it appears it’s back to square one. My bottom line was don’t start without a striker whilst having one fit and ready to go on the bench or sat in the stand. Well, fair enough, Bod was injured, but last week was also about a defence that didn’t leak li...

Quite. Running a mile (usually in reverse) from most forms of physical contact does tend to keep injuries at bay.

Re: In or Out?

Only having one striker and refusing to start him falls solely on Stam's shoulders. Like so many managers before him flirting with the exit door, he's in a hole and won't stop digging. I can't believe how quickly he's got here and, very sadly, see no sign of him casting his shovel aside. Having over...

He has 81 International caps for Wales (who are a far better team than England) A serious contender for the biggest load of sh*te I've read this season. Wales is essentially Bale +10, but even with that one world class player, man for man, they should be a long way short of any side England are cap...

Re: Norwich City Saturday Crowd and Score Predictions

A positive result would be actually starting with a striker. This seems a good game for season ticket holders to take Stam's advice by staying away unless our current form makes you so deliriously happy that you can't stop cheering the team to the rafters. On that basis, my seat's paid for and if th...

Have Vodafone and EE and the latter usually works better on match days. I believe it's considered to be the quickest of all the mobile networks.

Re: Is the idea of a striker flawed? Does Stam believe in total football?

I think his priority was getting more movement and fluidity through midfield. Mendes and Bodvarsson have shown if the supply is good, they know where the goal is. We now have pace and technical ability throughout midfield so whilst he was after a striker, I think securing one would have been the ch...

Re: The 2017/18 season preview/expectation and build up thread

I still can't comprehend how our squad finished 3rd last season. . . . doesn't seem like there's much point me expressing an opinion when I still think that team was cr*p, yet we were a couple of missed penalties away from the Premier League. Don't worry you are far from alone on these pages. Not u...
