Re: Clement

I'd take him in a heartbeat. Still think he'd be good for 20_ Championship goals per season If thats anything like the 10 you were sure he'd score in the PL we should get a good 12-16 out of him then. Ian go back and check my prediction I said 10 as a Prem player OR 20 as a Championship player OR 3...

Re: Loader to Bundesliga

Can't help but feel we may never see this kid in the first team. You have to wonder as well, if these clubs are genuinely interested surely he must be good enough to get in to a struggling Champ team? We're not struggling for goals though. Bodvarsson has 7 in 7(4) = 1 goal every start. Meit...

Re: BFTG - Ipshit H

Stam did a decent job first season, with decent signings and massively benefited from McDermott's signing of Kermorgant. He took over a side that had been plagued by useless loanees who didn't give a toss and built something around the solid core. But his side was always incredibly fragile and vulne...

Re: Clement

His big plus was he was already strong, fast and brave. It took a while until he could do it with a ball. I mean, he’s almost 32 and not lot has changed. I'd take him in a heartbeat. Re: Clement

Well Long "couldn't kick a ball" and "would never be a footballer" when he arrived, and for about four seasons (according to HNA) So either he was secretly swapped overnight or someone taught him how to play. Not sure, but in terms of total transfer fees, he may be our biggest W...

Re: The very latest in Clement In/Out Polls

So Gourlay appointed a sh*t manager last time around then! All this faith in Clueless Clem signing good players when the transfer window opens! He did a great job last time around didn't he - not! A couple he rates so highly that he won't play them - one being one of the big characters and leaders ...

Re: BFTG - Ipshit H

Fine margins innit. We had a squad full of vulnerabilities and even when we finished third games were usually won by fine margins. Took very little to tip us into failing to win points and once there, withno Kermie to save us, confidence fell apart. Performance is so strongly linked to belief, confi...

Think you might have left the goal open with that comment.

And you've just skied the shot I teed up.

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

Portman Road is pretty good to be fair. Like a shit St James's Park: town centre location, walking distance from the station with a good away pub. The view is poor though and it's way overpriced but I could imagine it would be good for a home fan. I wonder how much they will be charging next season...

Re: Clement

IIRC Dembele went for only £500,000 or so after not agreeing a new contract. One of the bargains of recent years and we could all see that he would become a decent player. BTW isn't there another Sessegnon on the fringes of their first team? We can but hope that one day the millions spent on the Ac...

Did Roberts and Dembele even really play for him? Both left before they became ‘good’ - Dembele for free wasn’t it? IIRC Dembele went for only £500,000 or so after not agreeing a new contract. Re: Clement

Richards as well. True - the point is our academy has been producing players who will likely play the majority of their careers at Championship or below level, which in itself is an achievement, but a long way behind Dembele (22 and playing in CL with Lyon) and Sessegnon (a top Championship player ...

Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

Selling 1/2 season tickets in the area, so I guess they are here to stay. I am for it FTR. Me and my uncle were discussing it on Saturday and we came to the conclusion that while it is a great imitative and I want it to succeed, it isn't for us. 1) he is nearing 60 and doesn't want to stand for the...

Re: Record Watch 2018/19

Sadly, I think Leeds could beat the 106. They are the one team in the country that I would hate to do this. Happy for any other team to beat the record. Just not Leeds. Jesus wept. If they'd beaten Bolton and QPR I'd laugh too but they've actually beaten very easily two decent sides,. they could do...
