Re: MATCHWATCH : Derby County (a) sponsored by first half away goal search

Odd that people think fans had anything to do with Stam changing anything when essentially nothing has changed. We've not played badly this season, just not well enough and not effectively enough (semantics maybe, but certainly in home games no one has really looked better than us and almost every ...

Re: The "reward youth" debate

Agreed. Smith and Richards acquitted themselves well and Richards could have a little run now at LB Fosu is still the only one who I think may come back to bite us, but you can’t keep hold of players his age forever in the fear they may fulfil their potential It's just sad we consistently brought i...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Derby County (a) sponsored by first half away goal search

Early days in our recovery of course, but it's just one more sign that the difference between 5th and 20th in the Championship can often be confidence and form. A few mistakes and game changing incidents of bad luck leading to some poor results and suddenly the players are uncertain, overthinking an...

Well I've bought 2.

Looking forward to some 5 Parkinsons. Kinda hoping for an exciting but fair draw.

Interesting to see the Forest side we beat very comfortably are 4-0 up today as well Basically we’ve ripped apart 2 in form teams in the space of 5 days I love living in the East Mids when this happens - so many people I know to give grief to   Blimey. Beat Birmingham, Villa, Forest &...

Re: The "reward youth" debate

Yep. Hadn't been especially impressed with what I'd seen of him previously (not bad by any stretch), but he's obviously doing well today. Hard to be 4-1 up without everyone having at least a decent game.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Derby County (a) sponsored by first half away goal search

It's about playing the right players in the right place. Like Bacuna at RB and Gunter at LB on Tuesday and Beerens upfront today? Bacuna is key to Reading. He is the Danny Williams replacement bringing verve and energy and drive to the team plus he’s a pretty decent right back. When he doesn’t play...

Silly billies turning on Stam 8-13 games into a season. Pah.

Nice.

I think I'm going to switch to 1-1 in light of Richards for Berg and Beerens for Smith.

Reading XI : Mannone, Gunter, Moore, McShane, Richards, Bacuna, Barrow, Aluko, Edwards, Swift, Beerens Subs : Jaakkola, Blackett, Popa, Kermorgant, Clement, Andresson, Barrett Given 12 senior players out, there really wasn’t much else left for Stam to pick Things getting bad for Blackett with young...

Re: The "reward youth" debate

yeah definitely one to keep an eye on. Been a good loan. I like Novacovitch, but I'm not sure I see where he fits in. He's never struck me as a No. 9 you'd use as a focal point, or put in a No. 10 role. But he's not particularly pacey either. He seems like more of a L/R sided forward in a 3, but to...

Re: Reading fc season predictor league

Right, I'm offering a simple alternative prediction league. There'll be no complaining from me about how you format your predictions, no arbitrary points awarded to try to make people do things my way because I'm not an egomaniac, and the rules are the same from game 1 to 46. League only. 1 point f...

That's how we started the season. It's a consequence of playing better, making better decisions and not having to play through 8 outfielders in one third.

Re: The "reward youth" debate

Considering his form for the U23 team, I would have thought Barrett would be in line for at least an appearance on the bench. He wasn't too bad when he got his few games under Brian 2 seasons back was he? Bags of talent, very raw and lacked defensive discipline. Kicking on nicely, but competing in ...
