Re: Where have the hardcore gone? Culture loss.

I was having a think about this stuck in traffic yesterday. Why are the club not doing more offers on home games, especially the ones they know full well are going to be quiet? The Bolton one for example. They are doing NOTHING to incentivize people to turn up to the games they know will be a strug...

Re: Clement

think as I mentioned earlier, imo its not been a case of who he has been allowed to brought in that is causing the issue, more who they couldn't ship out. I don't have a huge amount of sympathy for the performances so far, other than the generally sh!t mentality about the place. He inherited a losi...

Re: BFTG - Weds H

That back 4 is our strongest defence. As has been mentioned here ad nauseum, the issue is midfield particularly central midfield - sort that and we *should* be ok. I would say its the wings as the non tracking back ethic they have and outrageous positional play (aluko) stretches out the middle allo...

Re: Where have the hardcore gone? Culture loss.

Dont think there a culture loss just at Reading, pretty sure its across the whole country. People just cant be arsed to go to the game when there is already so much footy on TV. We also have a generation of hatred towards football in those oxf*rd rugby fans who complain about the money and prima don...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Sheffield Wednesday (h) sponsored by oh no, not another Saturday home game

Nonsense. Harper and Sidwell created loads. And Harper was usually the one who started us off by getting it wide and into space early in the first place. It's Legs and Jem that were extremely bypassed. So playing down the wings, yeah? No they created plenty. For a start they scored 17 goals between...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Sheffield Wednesday (h) sponsored by oh no, not another Saturday home game

Do wonder if we’ll see us play that line up, but with Meite alongside Bod and sims and Barrow on the flanks. Would give us the option to just play old school get it to the pacy wingers to put in crosses. Reckon it might work at times Yep, by pass the middle. Pretty sure in our most successful team ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Watford (h) sponsored by a difficulty to enthuse

If that had been Liverpool or Arsenal I would not be too worried. But that was Watford. Reserves. And they totally, wholly and uncompromisingly outclassed us in every department. A club we would have considered to be of a similar standing as ourselves. Meite, Moore and Ilori, whilst not perfect, ca...

Re: Rumour - Cameron Jerome

I really think Bodvarsson is more than enough for us, very underrated in his time here thus far. Lets stick with him and Baldock, no need to bring in any more fire power at this time. I think Jerome would offer the back-up/competition to JDB, Would give us striking options of Baldock/McNulty & ...

Very hard to get enthusiastic over this, it has season ending injury written all over it. However I would like a cup run.........but I also dont want any more injuries for our players.
Hopefully Moore Yaidom, Bod, Barrow, Mannone and Meyler are to be fully rested. Baldock to come on as a sub.

Oh I have no allegiance to a favorite player atm, in my eyes they either play well or dont. Its a pity its been the same player 2 games in row which has cost us points.
I was commenting on you saying it was a 'well worked goal'.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Blackburn Rovers (a) sponsored by 3 league wins in 2018

I don't think people are jumping on McShane's back because of this one game alone. One only needs to look at the Bolton game to see McShane make two total cockups, one that almost lead to a goal, and one that did lead to a goal. Keep in mind also that people are biased and have their favorites. For...

have to admit I don't understand what is going on there. Apparently they needed to save 50m this season to fit in with FFP Instead they have sold no one and replaced their expensive loans with more expensive loans. Will be fuming if they manage to get hold of Tammy Abraham as well, who should not b...

Re: Summer Transfers

[quote="RoyalJones" We have a squad rammed full of average players, Edwards, Bacuna, McShane, Blackett, O'Shea and Aluko (at this moment in time), could make an arguemnt for Ilori and Gunter being average. Some are constantly injured - McCleary, Harriott and Swift for example. All these pl...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Blackburn Rovers (a) sponsored by 3 league wins in 2018

I would say the challenges McShane made for the pens are so rash and stupid to make. Then add him not challenging for the goal against Bolton...I am hoping Clement grows a pair and decides to 'rest' him for a few games. If Ilori is fit or I'd take Blackett at CB along side Moore if not (isn't Cb is ...

Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

Why are people moaning about the atmosphere being moved from Y26 to the south stand?? Surely they moved there voluntary because they wanted to be there. No one was forced or recruited to go there. Also got to ask the question, if Y26 is the best singing and are the loudest part of the stadium, why d...

Re: Josh Sims - Confirmed?

So we had too many wingers then not enough and who will get on the end of crosses?...Bod or the tall McNulty...Who's running the club FFS Two things: 1) The crosses don't need to all be in the air, in fact it pays to vary them! 2) You don't necessarily need to be a tall barsteward to be very effect...

Re: Josh Sims - Confirmed?

We have brought in someone who can beat a man and put a cross in. This is a great loan signing. It does not matter about our CF heading ability in the box, it really does not matter. crosses don't have to be big looping balls into the box. Just get the ball in there and make them defend. People keep...
