Re: BFTG Birmingham (A)

Swift and Kelly were playing with heavy legs last night. Got themselves in decent positions but had no ability on the ball last night. After 70 mins Kelly was playing way too deep. Sims was very weak. Looked too soon for Bod to start a game - Meite should have kept his spot. But hindsight is great. ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Birmingham City (a) sponsored by Nigel Adkins last game

I feel Meite should only be leading the line if we intend to put crosses in. He is wasted if we are playing to feet as the balls just bounce off his feet if its fizzed into him. An out of form Kelly v Meyler who hasn't played or impressed?? Think Kelly will keep his place for this one but dropped so...

Re: BFTG Millwall Home

Danny Guthrie deserves absolutely no sympathy from anyone. What a totally mad thing to suggest. Am not suggesting sympathy for Guthrie, my point was simply a footballing one about playing in midfield. If you have ever played there you will know that it is very much about moving the ball on to playe...

Re: BFTG Millwall Home

I'm too latte to post a full BFTG but I want to focus on something I really liked during the game. The tactical switch. As it was happening I thought "that is exactly the right thing to do, well done Clement" A switch to a back 3 was the perfect thing to do at that point in the game as no...

Re: BFTG Millwall Home

Looking at the replays this morning it does looks more of a pen,, he comes in from the side, looks like he makes the ball but then goes through the side of Blackett, there is a second motion which scissors his trailing leg which brings Blackett down.

Re: Rumour - Phil Parkinson

Too many high profile players have failed catastrophically for that to be an issue. Yes it helps if you have a glittering career but when it comes down to it, knowledge of the game and certain skills show through. Parky has been a manager for too long for his playing career to come into things.

Re: Clement

But he's not been out of the game has he? He's been actively assisting for the last 5 years. He had a brief spell with villa too. It's not like he's been gardening for 7 years he's been active in football management. The point in large I was making was there's people like Nagelsman and Howe who had...

Re: Teams to be Relegated 18-19

It goes to show how tight this league is when looking at the relegation candidates, after 12 games, are only 4/5 points from play offs..... But i do think Bolton have done really well in the last few seasons to stay up, this year they might be out of luck. Isn't this only their second season back i...

Re: Gourlay

Would we be having this debate IF we held on for the win at Brentford / didn't lose to QPR o/ got a result at WBA? No, we are pointing the finger. Gourlay was not in the dressing room giving the HT team talks. He is running the club differently to The Reading Way and probably got rid of people not t...

Yes they were thinking about it, did not know how to contact the Chinese. I suggested they speak to sir john he would know That's a fair summary. Delboy is so far the only supporter to write to us in this vein. Understand where he's coming from. The road to where he wants to get is paved with obsta...

Re: BFTG West Brom

Of course I wouldn't expect Meite and McNulty to start when our other options are fit but their failure to work together should have been noted by Clement by half time. Everyone focused on the positivity of our first half performance without noting the glaring issues. A good manager would have chan...

Neutral ratings and comments from the Football League Paper might be of interest:- Walker 6- Not busy in the first half, but overwhelmed in second Ilori 5 -Another who went missing when Gayle scored the first Moore 6-No messing, booted away from line when Reading exposed Blackett 6-Gave ball away a...

Re: BFTG West Brom

I've not seen the game or highlights yet, but just wanted to offer some thoughts. From what I've seen so far Walker looks a solid keeper, made some good saves at Preston, and again in the QPR defeat, and yet from the comments on here you'd think he was Peter van der Kwaak reincarnated. I'm a keeper...

Bacuna on his day is better than Williams on his day. Williams when playing shit is so much better than bacuna when playing shit.
Just like Williams, Bacuna is also very inconsistent.

Re: BFTG West Brom

So, football. We have a blueprint for moving forward in that first half display. Don't underestimate that. Midfield was very good first half, we had a gameplan and executed it well. Not sure what was in the half time cuppa as it was a totally different performance. Barely five minutes in, soft goal...

Re: BFTG West Brom

Thought McNulty was wasted in first half. He made decent runs just wasnt passed to. To many slow (and many) sideway passes when in good positions.
Sometimes i wish we just stay out on the pitch at HT and just wait. Sick of 2nd half performances.
