Re: Pre-Season Social @ The Purple Turtle

Snowflake Royal Do we actually have a third kit, and if so, why?

Yep, as posted above. We had the all-black third kit last year, pretty sure there was at least one game they wore it.

Re: Pre-Season Social @ The Purple Turtle

Anyone able to transcribe Selles' Q&A session? Ruben Neves* as per DJ Megaparty Absolute clown that fella. Confirmed Wing and Savage would be in the squad for tomorrow, plus a new player. Sellés came across well, nice sense of humour. Endearingly kept referring to Reading as a city. Sparks seem...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Peterborough United (h)

F1 bus return is now £5.50. Off-peak day return from Reading Main to Reading Green Park is £3.10. 14:37 gets you to Green Park for 14:44. It's 14 minutes walk to the Megastore from the station. Or you can play it safe and get the 14:07. There's a train at 17:14, which depending on stoppage time, mi...

Down from 5,009 to 1,475. Gold Legacy Status 8)

Wonder how many people will be over 1,500? And if their selling criteria will typically split as Day 1 – 1,500+ points, Day 2 – 1,350+ points as per the website's Exeter example?

Re: MATCHWATCH : Peterborough United (h)

With the station at Green Park now being open, the number of people using the buses (especially to the town centre) would probably fall anyway. F1 bus return is now £5.50. Off-peak day return from Reading Main to Reading Green Park is £3.10. 14:37 gets you to Green Park for 14:44. It's 14 minutes w...

Re: What's positive at the moment?

No half-time entertainment!

Apparently the pitch has got gray leaf spot again, meaning access to the playing surface will be limited to players and referees only.

Re: The Non - League thread

Maidenhead United new stadium officially OFF. Devastating news, it really could have made a huge difference to the club and community. Local council strikes again! South East being packed full of NIMBYs presumably, wonder if any councillors will get booted out at the next local election because of ...

Re: The 92 Club - how many have you done?

Four in the Conference for me – Aldershot, Oldham, Southend and York. Only one of my 59/92 didn't involve Reading – Notts County. And strangely my visit to Bootham Crescent, was to watch York v Aldershot. Must admit hadn't clocked that Bootham Crescent has now been demolished and York have played at...

Re: Football Buses

That's a massive increase, makes you realise how much the club must have been forking out (or Reading Buses are taking the piss) Don't know why the government funded £2 to anywhere single doesn't apply for the football buses? Government website actually states as part of it's waffle on the bus fare...

L2 – 6

Hoping to knock off most of L1 this season.

Agreed. Mbengue and Holmes for now. Wouldn't be surprised if Abbey is now vying for McIntyre for the reserve CB spot. Could well be Abbey's breakthrough season.

Is Tivonge Rushesha the left-midfield trialist who played in the Wimbledon friendly over in Spain, as well as against Southampton?

Massive NO to Chris Martin coming back. Easily makes my Top 5 Worst Loan Signings list. Just a really unlikeable player, who looked off the pace 5 years ago.

Re: The squad in July

Completely agree. Think the loan spell helped him far more than us. Very much doubt he'd have had such an impactful U20 WC without the run in the team Ince gave him. Midfield's been a hugely problematic area for us for a fair few years now. It's the one area where Sellés really did need to prioritis...

Re: The squad in July

And do we have 100% proof that Reading had loan agreements where the loan players had to play if fit or is it just random dribblings trying to make sense of why Paul Ince kept picking certain players? Can I remind you all that the manager at the time the teams were selected was Paul Ince, someone w...

Not helped by Jeep adding some lightning forks to their logo, just to make them seen even edgier. Can't remember a decent Juve kit since they ditched Kappa.

If genuine, not buying as I hate them. They may be genuine concept designs though? Reading isn't London or Paris, we don't have a recognisable skyline or famous monuments - The lion is already on our badge. London and Paris are two of the biggest cities in the world. But beyond the obvious Big Ben,...

Might have had this. Abandoned, crumbling, but still stunning. Valencia's 80,000-capacity Nou Mestalla is in disrepair, the site having been vacant since money problems halted its building in 2009. https://i2-prod.dailystar.co.uk/incoming/article27713917.ece/ALTERNATES/s615/1_JS274370455.jpg Just b...
