Re: Generic clubs in financial crisis Thread

Bolton could be in for a -20 points deduction next season. -12 for administration which is rumoured could be filed tomorrow and funded by the Davies Foundation, and there could be -8 for not fulfilling their fixture against Brentford. Popcorn time! Ouch - admin is pretty much a given today, as I do...

Re: Ups & Downs 2018/19

Has there been a final weekend with so little riding on it? In the champ the only important thing going was 1 play off play off place. Now in the prem pretty much everything is seen up before the final weekend Except the “race for 4th place” which, for weeks, SKY have been trying to get us all to b...

Re: BFT(final)G

Enjoyable game, should really have taken 3 points. Meite MOM for his efforts in Club 1871.......although I was worried he’d be injured by being mobbed! Wouldn’t it be good if a couple of players not involved in a game were always sat in a couple of seats in club 1871 for at least for half of every ...

What a horrible set of teams for the play offs in the Championship. Don’t want any of them to win it and the one you probably not want to win it the least is on the worst form

Re: Next Season's Squad.

All we know is that every single player at the club could move on in the summer (which, unless you are Barcelona or ManC is probably true of any club anywhere) so is hardly news. Top of the list to be moved on, IMO, will be any player signed under Ron Gourlay’s regime (so those signing contracts bet...

Snowflake Royal Was something up with the tannoy? Could barely make out a word.

Absolutely delighted for Rino if that was him winning Pots!

PA system was utter kak in the East Stand. Nothing but loud indistinct mumblings. Bring back the Elm Park tannoy.

Snowflake Royal Goals may well be a problem.

Are none of Osho, Holmes and McIntyre here and fit?

All big earners apparently. Will be leaving.

26 April 1997 Reading 2 - 0 Oldham "OK, it's a cliche - but Glasgow and Roach are definately ones for the future. They both put in some great touches, some nice passes, and set chances up. Roach took his goal well and was clearly up for getting a second. They both had excellent games - expect ...

Following events at the County Ground and Moss Rose yesterday. Reading are now the 4th oldest football league club and, obviously, still the oldest football league club south of the Trent river.

Just Stoke, Forest and Wednesday left in the way now

Snowflake Royal
Nameless
Snowflake Royal Some talked of a challenge this season. 12th is the absolute best I'd hope for next season. And that's with a good summer.

Reckon we could push for 11th with the right signings.

Chortle.

Re: Luke Southwood

With Martinez future in the balance and Southwood's glowing references from helping Eastleigh into the National League playoffs, when would be the right time to give him the no. 1 shirt? I saw that the Bristol City keeper spent half a season at Solihull Moors last year before establishing himself a...

Re: Next Season's Squad.

This is forgetting the likes of McIntyre, Osho, Barrett etc but they should be kept on anyway. Not sure what Southwood and Ward are like in all honesty Sam Smith valued at 1 million was a bit of a joke. Jonathan Low has improved massively but that's ridiculous, Smith is just the striker version of ...

Brentford awarded 1-0 win over Bolton Apparently a first in Football League history that a game has been cancelled. Can only imagine this will only lead to them getting a pretty hefty penalty (if there is still a club to penalise). Comes about because the stadium has lost it's safety certificate ag...

God I just remember how much of an utter dump luton is as a place and how shite their stadium is. That won't be a fun away trip. One of the literal worst places I have been to in britain. Gonna be honest, it's not one I'm looking to add to the list. Aren’t Luton at last going to be moving to their ...

Re: Nigel Howe CEO statement

Did no one else read that and get the impression that we will be selling a lot and buying very little during the summer? Impression I have is that though a lot will be moved on by various means (both youngsters and established “stars”) the squad is going to be invested in sensibly. You don’t necess...

Couldn’t see if the floodlights were going up on an artificial pitch or a grass one, seemed very close to the road though. ...
