Re: Fixtures

Have we not had to play away fixtures first because of the festival most years? Will play a part depending on the weekend the season starts and when the festival falls. This season starts on the 4th August. So the game on the 25th is likely the 4th game of the season (barring any midweek games), so...

Re: Strikers.

Bod and Nova anyone? Not that we're likely to play two upfront. A carthorse who scored 7 in 27 and a youth team lad who has made 2 first team appearances? No thanks This is precisely what pre season should be about, try it and see how it goes. Trouble is Bod is not likely to be involved in pre-seas...

Re: England’s World Cup Finals 2018

I know it doesn't speak much of techniques, but if you mapped all of the scored penalties in world cup shootouts, I'd venture they are in the majority in the same areas. But send the keeper the wrong way and it goes in. Point I am making is that even for those above (Pearce's an obvious exception, ...

Re: ROYALS PROGRAMME

I would have liked the club to move with the times a bit and produce a digital version that can be downloaded onto phones/tablets. Stick a £1 charge on it and I think they'd make a tidy sum each game. In this day and age the majority of people are glued to their phones pre-match so would make sense...

Fixtures

Dates for fixtures Premier League : 9am on 14th June Football League : 9am on 21st June Carabao Cup 1st Round : No-one seems to know anything more than “mid-June” Not bothered about who Reading get, or when, beyond a home game to end the season for a change. And just for some background, I'll repeat...

Re: Generic clubs in financial crisis Thread

One of the Premier League founding clubs, Oldham Athletic, look like being next name to collapse. Unpaid staff, eye watering debts are just a couple of the problems it seems according to the Mail. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-5808305/The-story-Oldham-Athletics-financial-troubles...

Re: The Non - League thread

And the ********* about in non-league at Steps 3 & 4 continues. Out of nowhere Shaw Lane have resigned from the Evostik Northern League due to a failure to find investment. So rather than just deciding to play that league with one team less and deal with the gap next year the leagues have decide...

Re: The generic transfer thread

Leeds keeper Bailey Peacock expected to be a target for Wolves this summer while Leeds are apparently lining up a £10m bid for Vydra - not bad for a side with no manager currently, but an indication of the new investment from the SanFrancisco 49ers side of things perhaps.

Liverpool not happy with the results of Fekir's medical due to a long standing knee problem, they say they will only pay a lower price than previously agreed, Lyon call it all off and go home. Fekir still wants the move to Liverpool apparently so may well still happen. However if Fekir has a good W...

Re: The Non - League thread

Highmoor IBIS have changed their name to Reading City FC. (Is somebody going to tell them?) How bizarre!! I can’t quite think of the words to describe it. Cheesy? Naff? Delusional? Guildford is another team called City who aren’t actually in a city, but it doesn’t make it less cringeworthy, I...

Re: CONFIMRED - John O’shea signs for Reading

O'Shea has kept himself fit over a long career. You don't play footy that long, at this level, and at that age, if you aren't fit. I'm not saying he's as quick as he used to be, because obviously he isn't. But maybe his overall fitness, preparation, training methods and techniques, diet, and lifest...
