Re: FL AGM

Making good use of their time then. Changes to the Carabao Cup released today: - No extra time. Games level at 90mins go straight to pens - No seeding in early rounds any more but North/South divide in draw remains - VAR to be used in stadiums where it is available, so PL stadia and Wembley. ABBA p...

Would anyone take a straight swap Liam Moore for Jordan Hugil if they offered it?

Re: CONFIMRED - John O’shea signs for Reading

Never has my whelm been so undered (well since we signed Aluko anyway). That said it is a year with a view to then moving into coaching with the club. He's not going to baulk the youngsters this season as really both Holmes and Andresson need to be out on loan. He also gives cover for both full back...

Re: CONFIMRED - John O’shea signs for Reading

4 sides conceded more goals in the league than Reading last season and now we’ve signed defenders from two of them. Just Bolton and Burton to go to get a complete set. https://www.sunderlandecho.com/sport/football/sunderland-afc/reading-boss-paul-clement-reveals-why-he-signed-ex-sunderland-skipper-j...

expecting a clean bill of health for the start of the season for all other players are you really?? I bet there won't be Hoping then :) Other than GMac, Obita was the only one that was still uncertain but did hear on BBC Berks in the last couple of weeks of the season that he was looking to be read...

Re: Strikers.

Grabban would be good. Actually might have a manager now that would play him as a striker rather than sticking him in midfield and making him look pony.

Re: CONFIMRED - Tommy Elphick

Be good to get this deal done. Apart from playing a part in Ipswich debacle he has looked assured in games played Villa fans want him to stay and believe Terry will leave. I suspect they may struggle to keep hold of Chester who is a PL quality centre half. We may not have a chance to sign Elphick n...

Re: Strikers.

Most people think the primary job of a striker is to score goals and while SB has been prolific for Bristol City in Division 3/League One he has not been quite so successful at Division 2/Championship level and therefore a distinct lack of whelm is being generated by those who haven't seen him play ...

Re: Club 1871

The "spirit of the South Bank" died when Elm Park was bulldozed IMHO. A load of kids gesturing to the away fans in Y25 never really cut it for me. That was us in the South Bank once. The difference is we're getting old and sensible now. The difference back then was the fact the away fans ...

Re: RUMOUR- John O’shea set to sign for Reading

Ron Gourlay and John O'Shea were good mates when they were at Manchester United together. So I think it is Gourlay doing a mate a favour. If he does sign, I think it will be the most bizarre signing ever! As long as he is no more than emergency cover for the defensive line and understood he is prim...

Re: RUMOUR- John O’shea set to sign for Reading

Can play anywhere across the back. Brings a wealth of experience at the highest level. At 37 though I can't think even Reading would play him as anything other than cover for defensive positions. If he's a regular from the start then, IMO, we have big problems. As a free transfer and primarily with ...
