Re: Is "The Reading Way" over?

I do take the point, but surely less than a full season against teams who have spent fortunes to beat us is a poor guide to McDermotts tactics and man -management. I think we'll find now how good he was - players like McAnuff and Leigertwood were available for transfer in the Championship remember ...

Re: MCDERMOTT SACKED

Admittedly I just posted this in another thread, but upon reflection it may be better suited here. I rarely post here these days but I wanted to put my thoughts into writing, so here goes: Brian McDermott did an unbelievable job of getting the group of players he had to perform to such a level that ...

He will forever hold legendary status for coming from within t...

Re: 4 Six-Pointers ...

Snowball I will be utterly amazed if we win our next two

Four points would be outstanding but I'd honestly be happy with two, just to stop the teams we're playing picking up maximums at our expense.

A point away from home anywhere in the league should be considered a good result in my opinion.

Re: Eden Hazard

We'll see, I tend to side with others on here that Premier League midfields will be less to his liking. My point above anyway was more that Kes' post about the wage bill is irrelevant unless Chelsea don't plan to replace the two forwards and defender they have got rid of. He'll play further forward...

Re: Eden Hazard

Not the sort of player I'd want, too obsessed with the spotlight. But Chelsea could look pretty good next year if they have their attacking players all on form. Lampard, Mikel and Mata in midfielder with Torres, Marin and Hazard in front of them could be deadly Hulk is also being heavily rumoured a...

Re: CheLOLsea

This was a Wimbledon-type performance where the lesser club packed their defence and just hoped that they might sneak a goal so their tactics are vindicated but I think Roman must have wondered why he had shellled out all that money over the years just to end up watching that dross. On another nigh...

Re: Programme Covers this Season

TBM Us designers gotta stick together ;)

Do you know if you'll be doing them again next season?

No idea pal. It would be great to do them in the Prem, and a lot more manageable given the decrease in fixtures and the more comfortable match schedule.

Re: Programme Covers this Season

How can people knock the designs? I think they are superb and make us stand out from other clubs around......beats a boring "action shot" from last weeks game It's the way of the Reading fan m8. As a group we just love to complain. Can you believe that there was a group of Facebook users ...

Re: Programme Covers this Season

Great work this season fine sir, h8ers always gunna h8 ;) Any idea if you'll be involved next season? Cheers pal. I've absolutely no idea to be honest, as the concentration has been focused on getting this season over with first. However, I have no idea who produced the cover for the supplmentary p...

Re: Programme Covers this Season

Ahh good yeah the below cover as I say was my favourite. I also liked the ones during winter where the players had like ice coming off them, and the FA Cup one. I think it's good the Club gave you a lot of artistic freedom and that your style is distinctive. Got any more footy work lined up? http:/...

Re: Programme Covers this Season

Cheers for the feedback (the positive words more so than the negatives, but I'll take both on board! Haha). When the club asked me to produce artworks for the programme I did voice my concern that my style may not be well-received by your 'typical', or 'traditionalist' football fan, but they were ke...

Re: 2011/12 SEASON BETTING THREAD

£40 on WBA v Liverpool @ a mix of 9.2 and 9.4. Seems great value. Very nice. What does this mean? It's basically a multiplier. So moo had, for example's sake, £40.00 on WBA @ 9.3. His return would therefore be £40.00 x 9.3 = £372.00 , which obviously includes his original stake. Very tidy profit th...

Re: Fulham's away end

I've been wondering this for a few weeks, the away end is mixed with 'neutrals', but it always seems there are Fulham fans in there. Why is this? Why is it not segregated? The away end and the neutral end are different. They are are next to each-other, granted, but you're correct in that the suppos...

Starfish Can we build an all-time dirtiest 11? With players in their proper positions (as far as that is definable).

Kevin Davies and Duncan Fergusson up front.

Drunken Duncan is a shout. Not sure about Kevin Davies though. He's more of a clumsy oaf than a nasty bastard.

Re: Nasty players

Hoop Blah Has nobody mentioned Scholes yet? Not a consistent offender in the league of some perhaps but quite happy to put in a bad tackle when needed.

Roy Keane once described him as the nastiest player he'd ever played alongside, if I remember correctly.

Re: Back from the Game- Blackpool

I'm pretty sure that the incident you are thinking of was when the ball came out to Kebe who was 6 or 7 yards out, and who smashed it goalwards; it didn't hit the post - it smacked against Noel Hunt (who was close to the post) who was taken by surprise so had no chance to control or direct the ball...

Re: Most influential player in Premier League history

Cantona was my first thought upon reading the thread title. In Cantona's first season at Old Trafford, United won the inaugural Premier League by 10 points – winning the title for the first time since 1967. In doing so, he became the first player to win back-to-back English top division titles with ...

Re: 2011/12 SEASON BETTING THREAD

Had a double of a draw between us and Doncaster and a Ross County win. Ross County were 2-0 up against Greenock Morton with 85 minutes on the clock. I thought they'd won but when I checked my Bet365 account I had no funds. Checked the Ross County score again and they conceded in the 87th and 90th m...
