Re: CONFIMRED - Glenn Murray on loan

Whilst i think getting Murray permanently would have been good, i guess a loan spell wasn't such a bad idea in order to keep a check on fitness as the games progressed. Really don't know why we didn't get him on a season long loan though as we probably would be in a better position to buy come the e...

Re: BFTG - Barnsley

Despite our current league position, the past year at RFC surely must claim to be the ultimate in 'dull and uninspiring' as claimed by Schards around 5 years ago. I would take half the skill, endeavour and attitude of that set of players over this bunch of mishaps any day. In fact you probably have t...

Re: BFTG Bournemouth - sponsored by no midfield

Blimey nige you cant resist a good tinkering of the squad can you, its all getting a bit brendan rodgers except we apparently have the talent this time round. The performances and cohesion is so overwhelmingly individual its embarrassing. Granted we have had injuries but a combination of nigels plat...

Re: Millwall Match Thread - Sponsored by the Bushwackers

Basically adkins got the set up and pace of game wrong today despite team playing well below par. Cm was dire today, no dyanism or energy at all. Baird im becoming unconvinced by, id rather even see akpan given a chance and guthrie back to primadonna status.given the formation the wingers were total...

Re: Jimmy Kebe

In all honesty i think we saw the best of Jimmy Kebe a few years back when Brian took the reigns and Jimmy had a storming finish to the season and continued that in the playoff campaign. Since then injuries have caught up with him which have taken longer to clear up every time and when he has return...

Re: Pogrebnyak

Its all a bit too reminiscent of Nicola Zigic at Birmingham, granted they kept him but he has definately not pulled up any trees at Brum - probably best if we cut our losses with Pog and got one or two new strikers in and maybe see what Samuel can do.

Re: Speculation - Ricky Lambert

[quote="nevo1970"]Did the Legend that is Jimmy Quin drop out of the top tear to play for the Cherries at 31/32 so it could happen. Rocked up and scored a few for us the season after - I know in old money in Div 3 but at 31 lambert may feel that hooking up with Adkins would give him more ga...

Re: Rumour - Church off on free

McInyre's problem was that he was touted as a centre-forward - which he patently wasn't. So when he didn't meet expectations as a centre-forward the more excitable got on his back. He was perfectly competent out wide as a supporting striker. Don't see that really, his performance in the play off fi...

Re: Southampton match thread sponsored by Trevor Morley's he

If only we could fast forward to June. A real deflating end to the season which smacks of 97/98 - and the recovery then didnt exactly go to plan. Hopefully we can get in a mixture of players that are both 'game changers' and mobile and energetic. I cant think of a Reading season that has contained ...

Re: Why Can't we Have Coppell Back???

Adkins strikes me as an attempt to go back to a more Coppellesque way of playing . Perhaps less width from the wingers, but pacy attacking football with llenty of ability to pass the ball and retain possession where needed. Fingers crossed that's the case and it works. I absolutely hope that the ty...
