Re: Yeovil (H) BFTG

The ref bottled the biggest decision of them all! A second yellow for Lawrence (for the bad foul on McCleary on the left edge of their area), which would have seen the game abandoned. That isn't quite correct. You need 8 players to start a match. The minimum number of players a match can be played ...

Re: Yeovil (H) BFTG

I don't think Yeovil can complain about any of the reds, except perhaps the first one, but I am fairly sure "our" goal wasn't over the line . I was sat behind it and I'm 100% sure you're wrong. I was also sat behind it. Only looked about 80% over the line. Started very brightly, particula...

Re: Cant even beat the bottom team with 8 players...

Coppell's teams (with two obvious exceptions) tended to collapse in the second half of the season.

McDermott's teams tended to do a lot better in the second half.

Re: Yeovil (H) BFTG

Started very brightly, particularly down the left hand side, but neither Le Fondre nor Pogrebnyak could get on the end of any of the balls in. Akpan then gave away a silly foul, and McCarthy came for a ball he should have left. We looked a lot better once Guthrie came on, his range of passing change...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2013/14

Mostly old news.

A very talented young player, but I wouldn't mind seeing him after this. I suspect this is part of the reason why he's fallen down the pecking order at the club.

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2013/14

According to family on twitter, Steve Seddon will be stepping up two years to play for the u18's tonight. http://www.theguardian.com/uk/2013/mar/28/stephen-seddon-jailed-40-years This is promising though, they're 14/15 (Year 10) so they can get some valuable experience. It's not unheard of ...

Re: Players out of contract

He was Chris Cummin's favourite and he has missed two years through injury so doesn't have the achievements to his name that you might expect. Our young left back has never really set the world alight on loan, and even Arnold's presence in the Wycombe side for so long is an achievement that most of ...

Re: Statues

Friday falling off his stool in The Boars Head would be great but, to disagree with some of the above, he definately flashed a V-sign in Royals colours, regardless of what has been posted above! Wasn't Friday more of a Biscuitman? He may have flashed a V at some point whilst playing for Reading, bu...

That would do nicely

Again, if it happened it was when he was playing for Cardiff.

Re: Blackburn (H) - Back from the game

royalgrumpy This team is far too inconsistent to finish in the top six.

That seems a stretch. We've not been too inconsistent to place in the top six for most of the season. Our inconsistency may yet be our undoing, but we're plainly not far too inconsistent.

Re: Statues

Friday's v-sign (and alleged dump that never happened) were both whilst playing for Cardiff (or at least the v-sign on the Super Furry Animals cover was). He's probably our most "legendary" player, so would be the obvious choice (along with SSC). I'd go with the pose from the front of The ...

Re: Who will be the next academy player to break into 1st Te

Some of the forwards will have to be introduced next season so the likes of Tanner, Samuel (when fit) and Ugwu. If we don't go up we will need Pav off the wage bill and Le Fondre will be snapped up by a prem side, most likely. One or more of Tanner, Ugwu and Samuel have a great chance next season. ...

Re: Goals all over the pitch?

Dobson didn't really leave during the season- he only made his debut at home to Stoke! He did join midway through the season so I guess your point still stands. An easier way of saying it is "every outfield player who started a match except Makin scored a goal". I think lumping Obita in wi...

Re: Williams, Obita, etc.

I'm really interested in this thread because I get to see absolutely zero matches as I'm on the other side of the world. It's great to hear such gushing praise for Williams and as another poster said the remarks on here suggest we've unearthed a gem. I would be interested on getting a bit of perspe...

Re: Gorkss: Red Card-Yes or No?

You all seem to be forgetting that the rules have also changed so that refs are more often put in positions where more cards are potentially brandished (back passes, "offside", professional foul, tackle from behind, goal-keepers time holding the ball - is that still a rule? - goal scoring...

FridaysGhost This is important as all thinkers always knew that homosexuality was a physical problem that would become curable.

Re: Williams, Obita, etc.

Agree with what's been said about Williams and Obita but Akpan is the real revelation here isn't he? Go back to when he came on as sub that time and played like a human bagatelle. Everyone on here was saying he should never play for us again. Now look at him. Just shows you shouldn't be too quick t...
