Re: Rumour - free agents

Apart from the fact he covers LB, Holmes is making Gibson look a bit of a pointless signing. Surely it is more that Richards has gone from being a question mark to possibly the first name on the team sheet. His presence as competition may well see some of the players already here upping their game ...

Re: BFIT - Wycombe (H)

No, I’m correct. It doesn’t say we HAVE two records. We got one record (106) then we got a new record (110) You're still wrong, because we've obtained more than two already. We had the longest time without conceding until Van der Sarr took it off us, plus 13 wins, which makes three before breaking ...

Re: Rival Watch

Bookies obviously don't fancy us yet either, despite the start we are only 8th favourites for promotion. What were we before we kicked a ball? Before the game? 9th I believe, start of the season, think it was about 20th/21st from memory. Start of season I meant. Quite a move then really, I would ha...

Re: Would you take 4th place now?

tidus_mi2 It would be nice to guarantee a top 6 finish now but we always lose the play-offs so I'm going to say no

That is my thinking - given our record in the play-offs 4th just gives us a maximum of 3 games and we'll lose at least one of them (or lose on pens) - almost might as well finish 7th.

Re: Champions League/Europa League 2020/21

Real currently 3-0 down at home to Shaktar. Lost 3-2. And remarkably, Shakhtar got that result with just 13 first-team squad members, following 19 positive COVID tests that included many of the usual starting XI. Incredible result. Good win for Liverpool. Very open game as you'd expect at Ajax. Cou...

Re: Next 5 games are key

We're doing well, but this list of games shows how tentative I still am. In 05/06 and at our peak in 11/12, you'd look at games and know we'd win (forget the no easy games cliché, the teams just had an aura). Now I'm even looking at Rotherham as a possible banana skin. I'd be very happy with 10 poi...

Indeed. Anyway, interesting games this weekend Watford V Bournemouth Bristol City v Swansea Very possible that the following results happen this Saturday: Reading 1 Rotherham 0 Watford 0 Bournemouth 0 Bristol City 1 Swansea 2 Would leave the table as: Reading 19pts Swansea 14pts Watford 14pts Bristo...

Re: Rival Watch

It`s like a bloody conveyor belt of goal scorers at Brentford isn`t it? first Maupay, then Watkins and now Toney. It's a process that works if you get the first one right. Maupay was a great find that worked and once they sold him on for vast profit makes it easier for them to attract Watkins. Tone...

Re: Next 5 games are key

Win next game should be the only mantra. Take Saturday, if we beat Rotherham we could be 5 points clear by tea time as Watford host Bournemouth whilst Swansea head to Bristol. Lose and we could be 3rd. If we do the win and results go or way then pressure eases on the Blackburn game given that gap. I...

Re: BFIT - Wycombe (H)

First half was shockingly poor, summed up by the missed sitter at the end of the half. However, it was clear we had more class than Wycombe and carried a lot more threat going forward; quality goal to win it. Some genuinely good players in the side; inventive and exciting, backed by a solid defence...

Re: VAR

Is it causing this much controversy in other countries and if not, what are we doing differently? It's not over here as it simply isn't poured over by the press constantly. Errors are of course discussed but with the view that you are never going to get rid of mistakes but there are less now and th...

Didn't play well, won, kept a clean sheet, 3 points clear.

Will take that every single day. Will need to play much better though against tougher opponents.

Let's enjoy the view.

Last few years that game is 0-0 or 0-1.

Yet at least one poster above didn't know that the club get 80% of the proceeds. So as a PSA, it's already proving its worth. In what way does it harm you,? You seem to be looking for a reason to whine. Agreed. However, I thought I'd read somewhere that once the number of away fans buying passes fo...
