You have to learn from past experience and weigh up the negative impact of any ban against the immeasurable benefits that Chelsea derived from signing of a player like Gael Kakuta.
Like I said he is very old school and doesn't know how to deal with the modern player, the United players especially who are full of personality and flair. I think he will go on to be successful again. His approach does still work but only in the right setting. Italy for example, somewhere like Nap...
David Lee. On loan from Chelsea, early nineties, head and shoulders above the rest, scored goals from midfield etc etc Whatever happened to him? He spent 10 years on loan to the lower leagues interspersed with a spells warming the bench for Chelsea. Matejovsky. I think the meme at the time was &quo...
Mourinho is an awful manager, an awful manager of people at the very least, which is why he has never completed more than 3 seasons at any club and, Porto aside, the same pattern has been repeated each time; early success, internal conflict, implosion. Jurgen Klopp has now heen at Liverpool longer t...
I seem to remember Ezatolahi making a couple of the type of runs that Sidwell used to excel at, coming late into the box and getting on the end if crosses which is what leads me to think he's got more to his game than just being a defensive midfield minder. I'm not saying he doesn't have more to hi...

Wasn't there two red cards in that game? Three, apparently. Including Sammy Igoe near the end. Also notable that this the last time we played Swindon. Which means it's nearly 30 years since we played Aldershot, 17 since Swindon and 15 since we played Oxford. You'd need to be in your 30s to remember...
My only concern with Ezatolahi aside from his injuries is that I'm not alone in genuinely believing he could be the answer to some of our midfield woes and it's all on the back of 4 promising cameos in a terminally shit midfield. I'm worried that he's nowhere near as good as we've convinced ourselv...

Miazga is 24 this year and out of contract at the end of next season. The more I think about it, the more I can see Chelsea accepting a bid in the summer because at that age, if he's not close to the first team, hecnever will be and I don't think he'll wind down his contract on loan.
So Gomes has recruited better. certainly the recruitment since the appointment of Gomes has been better imo. I'd be little surprised if it was him who identified (all) the players But isn't that how a scouting network works? Manager identifies a need, scouts identify the individuals that fulfil the...
Under Stam and Clement, we were soft as shit defensively and we had problems all over the pitch. Rome wasn't built in a day but we're laying the foundations. It's a start.
A clean sheet guarantees you something out of the match. And a point a game is likely to lead to relegation. You can't lose if you don't concede, but you still can even if you score. See, you can spin it both ways, Ian and it does make me wonder how you would have spun it if we were getting these r...
