Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

Who do we want to see given a go in the first team next season? For me, I would like to see: - Legg, Ward or Southwood on the bench (if both Bond and Jaakkola are released) - Watson - Richards - Andresson - Holmes (if Andresson is loaned out or suffers a dip in form) - Rinomhota - Frost - Barrett - ...

Re: Building for next season

At board level, I don't think the Chinese owners are at fault at all for this season's catastrophe. Think our recruitment policy needs a re-think. On the fence about Gourlay and B-Tev still however. Think we've done well to tie down several young players to contracts, work done by Gourlay I think. I...

Re: Building for next season

Steven Reid is looking to have been a huge loss this season. Hopefully we can get the players fit and ready with the additions of Gibbs and Halabi. We might even have a further re-shuffle of the coaching staff at the end of the season with Michael Gilkes facing the chop perhaps? Maybe that's too far...

Re: Building for next season

What would a good/realistic offer for Moore be? 7 mill? 10? 12? 15? Could get a decent cb replacement for that.... I would happily have ...... feck names escaped me. Who we sold to Chelsea and plays for hull and cba to google. Michael Hector, yeah can be good at times, hasn't really featured for Ch...

Who will make it and who won't?

With Omar Richards recently signing a new deal after his impressive performance and the U23s on the upturn after a change of manager, who will make the step from the academy to be a valuable asset in the first team? Players like Richards, Barrett, Rinomhota and Watson are almost certain to make it, ...

Jaakola; Gunter, Ilori, Evans, Axel, Obita; Bacuna, Edwards; McCleary, Jon Dadi, Clement Subs: Mannone, McShane, Blackett, Kelly, Beerens, Barrow, Aluko Think Popa is injured. I expect Kelly to be rested and also a start for Bacuna. Maybe see Rinamohta get a game ahead of Gunter again? Otherwise, r...

Re: Rumour - Leandro Bacuna

If he joins, team will look something like this: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DG8YKRQXgAAk-wT.jpg:small GK - Mannone, Jaakkola and Legg. looks healthy, Mannone should be good at this level and Jaakkola has shown he can be a decent backup, wouldn't be afraid if he were thrown in. CB - Moore, Ilori, M...

Re: Sunderland Crap

Although we may have different opinions on Sunderland as a town, I would like to give my sincerest condolences to Bradley Lowery's family and I hope Bradley didn't suffer at the end of his life. Thankfully he is now resting in peace and his last moments were with his family which made the situation ...

Re: Ins and Outs – 2017/18

Harris I believe said they won't spend lots of money so I would have thought they would be priced out of this move. I have long tried in vain to defend Cooper as a prized asset on this site and with the (almost) reveal that he was moved out of the club due to a non football related issue I will onc...

Re: Ins and Outs – 2017/18

For me we need another LB - Mitchell Dijks who was on loan at Norwich from Ajax looked decent and surely has links to Stam and Brian T, still young too, think he wants to go there permanently though Think we'll need another box to box midfielder to replace Williams as sadly can't see him staying, p...

Re: Ins and Outs – 2017/18

Ledley could be a brilliant signing if Williams does go in terms of being a box to box midfielder. His recent Premier League experience is going to make him a good asset for us. If I had the choice between Ledley and Williams however, I would take Williams all day long. He brings a lot of energy to...

Re: Ins and Outs – 2017/18

For me I think we need a couple of full backs and a new striker as a priority. If we're going to look to play with 3 at the back then we need wing backs who are capable of getting forward and supporting the attacks. The Playoff final was a good example as while solid enough defensively, Chris Gunte...
