Re: Selles In

Let’s be honest Ian, if he’d stopped the ball, their player had taken a quick throw in and they’d scored as a result you’d be incandescent with rage at him He should have just let the ball go through his legs and got out the way, but assume it’s a bit of instinct in the heat of the moment Deserved ...

Re: Selles In

Where you getting that from? Well our goalkeeper was ~30 yards out of his goal with their forward on the edge of our box and another player looking to take a quick throw in. Ok, nothing is guaranteed and we had a fair bit of cover at the time but it was not a bad idea to prevent them taking a quick...

Re: Selles In

Exactly - don't see why it's perceived as a bad thing. If a player did that on the field it would be seen as good game management. Because its expressly prohibited. Players also get cards for it. But we'd rather likely concede and potentially lose the game as opposed to our manager receiving a card...

Re: Selles In

He deliberately prevented an opposition player from being able to restart the game to gain an advantage for his team. Tbf imagine the abuse he’d got if he’d just given the ball to the opposition player to take the quick throw in Exactly - don't see why it's perceived as a bad thing. If a player did...

Re: Selles In

Possibly. All seems to have blown out of all proportion given all he did was "kick a ball down the touchline, hardly as if he hurled abuse at officials, decked someone or violently kicked the ball across the pitch. He deliberately prevented an opposition player from being able to restart the g...

Re: Selles In

I thought that if you accept the punishment then the ban is automatic, but if you want to contest it or have a personal hearing to present mitigation there's obviously a delay while this happens. Possibly. All seems to have blown out of all proportion given all he did was "kick a ball down the...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Exeter City (h)

I expect another ban and a fine. Do the FA even have the jurisdiction to apply a points deduction? I thought only the EFL could. If it was a player it would be a points deduction, mistake or not. With a manager though, no idea. Pretty sure it would be an EFL charge for fielding an ineligible player...

https://twitter.com/james_e1871/status/1742957091998834832?t=kDMCSEgSho7feIiUwZloPg&s=19 Thought it related to his recent red card and not for the reason above. Wonder how a ban from an accumulation of cards is communicated and if the person the FA usually deals with has been let go or was out ...

Re: Potential New Owners

leon Who is this fcuking "Bolton" twat?

Which one of our "hilarious" regular posters is it?

I don't think any of the regulars are up to the level of background research on Bolton needed.

I think he's just a tedious pcunt Bolton fans bullied off their forum, desperate for attention.

Re: Weekend Football

with all the technology available now - yellow cards should be issued after the game once reviewed for clear diving incidents. Not sure on that one but some form of citing system similar to rugby could work i.e. a player is sanctioned for something missed at the time after the event. Could include ...

Re: Weekend Football

the chat around the game seems to focus so much on 'but is there contact?' which afair was never what fouls were about. as an aside, I would like to see yellow cards introduced for players who dive/exaggerate things but have still been fouled. Feigning injury is feigning injury. That's so massively...

blythspartan Sky are shocking at times. They are reporting that Selles “played” in the game against Exeter.

Re: Selles In

You'd obviously like to see the FL take a collaborative and understanding approach with a generous interpretation of the regs for auch a stupid and ultimately pointless error. It's hard to see them doing that to a club that's been taking the piss out of them for 5 years and keeps getting let off eas...

Re: Selles In

How long was his ban? I’m fairly certain he served it against Wigan (assuming it relates to the red card at Lincoln). He was on the touch line for Peterborough and Cheltenham (IIRC) and don’t remember him picking up any cards in either game to get a new ban. Would think it was just one game, but I ...

Royals and Racers Selles and Reading in big trouble with the EFL for Selles being on the line for the Exeter match when he was suspended.

Could this club be any more stupid?

Great management.

Re: Rival Watch

Really not interested in us making any signings at all. If we lose someone impt then maybe but otherwise would be happy to see no movement at all At a push an experienced back up for Smith and at a real push a left midfielder. Otherwise we’ve plenty of depth as it is Carlisle rolling the dice a bit...

It seems pretty obvious, to me, that you'd sell a player on: Working on bringing Chris Wilder in as manager and things are progressing well Restrictions and penalties are behind us and we're going to be doing a rebuild for the long term sustainability and success of the club High end Championship f...

Re: Selles In

League One sort of helps tbf. A few of our players have found their level and can begin to thrive here. Although tbf I like Azeez in the champ too. L1 does help but Azeez looked lost at the start of the season. Now he's on fire since Selles scrapped 4-2-2-2 Yeah the whole bloody team looked lost un...
