Re: Evra's Rafa pisstake

Liverpool will have to reel something about Hillsbrough again to get a few column inches if they go ANOTHER season without a trophy. Still there is always next season  ya poor liverpool, scoring the most goals for the second consecutive season...doing the double over man u and ch£atski while e...

Re: Dave Kitson!

Also wanted to add, I just can't believe the antipathy towards DK on here. For me he'll always be a hero for the role he played in our promotion winning season and many seasons before that. Here, here. Don't forget that when he came we were well into the post-Christmas slump and the supply-line from...

Re: Brendan Rodgers - a Watford view

Do we even have a wage "structure"? Don't we just agree deals on a case-by-case basis? Anyway, first season up we more than doubled our wage bill (not something the other promoted clubs did) and paid more than the celebrated tightwad Dave Whelan did at Wigan. As I recall, for our second s...

Re: Team for Tuesday - Burnley (H)

Amazing how many have put S Hunt in the side, also what is the point of playing Cisse at the back when Pearce is the ready-made replacement and has played alongside Duberry before?

This is a difficult choice RR like burial or cremation, neither are options that you would really want.

Re: Burnley (A) Match Thread

Dreadful game-not too bad a result. I can't remember ever seeing the ball out of play so much. Very glad that Wade Elliott didn't play and their normal passing game was nowhere to be seen. If anybody is actually talking to Bikey could they tell him that you don't take your shirt off when you have ju...

Re: Burnley (A) Match Thread

Big decision picking Shane ahead of Kitson IMHO-I don't have good vibes about this game so prove me wrong Reading.

Re: Burnley v Reading Predictions (A)

I noticed that Glen Little was involved in training yesterday from the BBC South feature so hopefully he will be fit enough to start.
If so that would make it 3 passing players in the line-up,Marek and Kitson being the other two.
Can't predict this one other than I expect goals.

Re: Scott Davies

Saw quite a bit of him last season when Aldershot were shown a lot on TV and a few glimpses this season.
A Scott Taylor with a bit more aggression and if we don't go up I think he will get a chance.

Re: Barca, Chelsea, United & Arsenal

It was plain wrong - terrible decision and no right of appeal. There's European Justice / Human Rights for ya! There was no right of appeal for Spurs when that penalty was given FOR Man Utd at Old Trafford by Howard Webb which possibly affected the outcome of the Premiership title. As The Man Utd p...

Re: Barca, Chelsea, United & Arsenal

As much as everyone likes the sexy football what Arsenal really need is a Tony Adams type at the back - they need a leader, a rock - someone to sort the defence out. Wenger really needed to buy in January, as superb as Arshavin is he's no different to the rest. Can see United romping this as I said...

Re: Burnley - strengths and weaknesses

As Alan Partridge knows I wanted Reading to sign Elliott 5 years ago but he was snapped up by Burnley and along with Eagles and Blake he plays the pass and move game that we rarely see from Reading. Occasionally you can see that Kitson and Marek are on the same wavelength as shown in our goal on Sat...

Re: Barca, Chelsea, United & Arsenal

Looking forward to both games this week. Arsenal with van Persie in the side have a real chance IMHO. Chelsea will have to try to win the game tomorrow night and it will be interesting to see whether there will be more room for Barcelona's intricate passing. Having seen the last time when Barcelona ...

Re: The Officially Depressed Thread - Sign In

I have been depressed since last season's January transfer window. A lot of people on here knew that we would struggle to stay up with that squad but the arrogance/tightness or whatever led to our demise when we broadly went with what we already had. The same in this transfer window-there were clear...

Re: Team For Burnley (a)

I think Doyle will play ahead of Long,Tabb will play wide left with a central midfield of Cisse and Marek. Amazing that posters on the Back from the game topic are giving Duberry an 8 and yet this poster wants to drop him-I wonder who is right. I can't see the back 4 being changed nor the keeper and...

Re: Back from the game (North Stand view)

How easy was that second goal. Defence opened up by very slow reactions from Marcus. Ok the ball bent away from him to the right slightly, but it was such a soft, soft goal. My jaw dropped open it total disbelief. Marcus made some saves admittedly, but froze when it was the crucial moment. So wrong...

Re: Back from the game (an armchair view)

Armstrong has been every bit as good as premiership misfit Shorey. I'm not so sure that's correct now is it??? Is Shorey getting regular games now ? Armstrong this season has certainly been every bit as good as Shorey was last season. I'd agree that Shorey in the title winning season was better, bu...

Re: Back from the game (an armchair view)

Anybody watching on TV able to give an opinion on whether Phillips was offside? Some of these ratings are incredible. I know I am biased about Kitson but in my eyes he was the only one who seemed to care and contested everything as well as coolly setting up Marek for the goal. Shane,o.k against the ...
