Re: BFTG - Brum

Cooper is very tall. That's about it. I think that's unfair, and simply not backed up by what we've seen to date. We could point to mistakes in games this season, for sure, but he's young and shows a huge amount of promise. His passing is at times excellent (he showed that last night), and his defe...

Re: BFTG - Brum

Under different circumstances the game tonight might have been seen as a decent performance, albeit the final third is still a desert of quality. Some good football at times, interspersed with some frustration too, but overall one of our better performances of the last couple of months. Poor final b...

Royalcop Chant for Feds (to the tune of Men at Work's 'Land down under')

He comes from a land down under
But we forgive him for his blunder
Even though it made us chunder....
Oh Adam Fed, Adam Federici.......

Last line needs a bit of work?

But shaven Adam, you're a wonder

Re: FAO Federici

Maybe it would be kinder to just let this thread die. It was sincere, served it's purpose and had a good life, but now it's just babbling and forgetting where it left it's teeth.

Re: Anton Ferdinand Dead or Alive??

melonhead was at least a decent 20 mins

Could Blackman claim a good 20 minutes from his season? If you include posturing and corner flag kicking, probably so.

Re: Anton Ferdinand Dead or Alive??

I'm struggling to care at this point. It may not be his fault, but it's galling just how much we've paid him per minute of on-field contribution, particularly when we're so hamstrung by FFP.

Re: *RELEGATION WATCH*

Time to tie up a few contracts too. Pearce, Karacan, Feds... Agreed, but let's hope the club has sharpened up their negotiation skills. Pearce, yes keep, but only at the right price. He can be a solid Championship defender, but he's demonstrated over the last 18 months that he's not more than that....

Re: What is the point in HRK

Well this is slightly ironic.... Not even slightly It's ironic that you're pointing out that someone's statistical assessment of a player is missing out large parts of what happens in a game that isn't recorded by his stats. ...and rather desperate that the defence of HRK is now reduced to how hard...

Re: What is the point in HRK

Just as an example, if HRK (or anyone) tracks a runner so the ball doesn't go to that runner, he "did nothing" ... Wasn't Harper very good at always filling the space to prevent the crucial pass? Valueless? If he pressed like Harper, I'd agree with you. He doesn't. He's half-hearted and g...

Re: What is the point in HRK

3points Wasn't it HRK who nobbled Mertesacker with a tackle in the centre circle? Major contribution as Gabriel was rubbish when he came on

I acknowledged that and gave him a +1

Re: What is the point in HRK

The problem is, RR, that that assessment only works if it's alongside the same assessment for other players, even assuming it's done properly in the first place. By isolating HRK, that's only ever going to produce a negative perception unless he's had a worldy . No, all we ask is he does more good ...

Re: FAO Federici

He can make worldy saves, but he always has a mistake in him. Some truth in this, but if he makes worldy saves as makes no mistakes in him, he wouldn't be at Reading. I think it's unlikely we'll get a better keeper than Feds, so I for one hope he signs with us again. Great keeper, very likeable man.

Re: What is the point in HRK

You could do that for many of the players. What did McCleary do second half apart from a slightly fortuitous goal? What did Pog do second half apart from the assist? What did Mackie do second half (in terms of goals, shots, good passes, assists We had 30% possession, apparently. That's a total of 1...

Re: What is the point in HRK

Apologies for trespassing on Snowball's turf, this is going to be a somewhat anal post, but necessary to clear up HRK's performance. No one is even suggesting the first half was good for him, so I ignored that. As others have claimed the second half was "great" or "excellent" I'v...

Re: What is the point in HRK

Don't confuse a great Reading performance with a good Robson-Kanu performance. Yet again he was the poorest of the starting XI. He contributed nothing for huge chunks of the game, and conceded possession in every way imaginable throughout the game. His one cross was embarrassing. There is an implica...

WE LOVE YOU HRK remember he scored at Cardiff and Derby Great player he is For those who love HRK, today must be the day of reckoning, assuming he plays. It's the perfect storm. Big stage (apparently that's where he excels), significant game (also when he suddenly comes to life) against his boyhood...
