Nine points out of those games would be pretty good. Why anyone thinks we'll pick up points against Man C and Liverpool is utterly beyond me.

Which Reading player outshone all expectations?

For those who can remember Jerry Williams from the 1970s I cannot tell you how bad he was to begin with. Bizarrely he moved from Centre Forward to Right Back before finding his niche as a pretty damned good right winger. I spent years at the South Bank screaming at the top of my voice that what he w...

Can I be pedantic and ask if "lower league opposition" means lower league compared to where we are now in the premiership or lower league relating to where we were at the time. IE. if it's the former can I nominate the entire decade of 1970s and most of the 1980s?

Well said Dave and well said to the poster who mentioned an element of 'hypocrisy' about the money thing. But, hey, we are all hypocrites in some sense. Anyone, who cared about world hunger wouldn't in their right mind eat meat but I bet I'm not the only person here who fails that test. Dead right a...

If Mark Larwenson has genuinely predicted 1-1 then the guy is even more of a twirp than I had him down for. We'll concede 4 absolute minimum and may score one.

For those who mentioned Grant Brebner. I live in Melbourne and Grant plays for Melbourne Victory where he is something of a hero. I wouldn't place too much emphasis on that however as Ozzie soccer is, frankly, of an atrocious standard. Grant has basically had a serious gambling addiction for most of...

Would an on form Darren Caskey get into our first team?

I personally think that Reading's real weakness this season is our midfield. I think Kitson, Lita and Doyle are all good premiership players and with Sonks back I feel a lot better about our defence. Our midfield is, and I'll probably be slated for this, really shockingly bad at times. Against Bolto...

Whatever happened to Darius Dwobzwek (spelling?) the finest centre back to have ever worn the hoops in my opinion. Last I heard he was managing a team in Warsaw but had a fall out with the chairman but that was years ago. Jeez, what a player he was. Until then all we had had was the likes of Martin ...

Size 12 and Zammo I was at that match with a mate who is a Wycombe fan. Great goal and a very good player who I always felt could have achieved a bit more than he did.

I'm with Gordons Cumming and Risely. I thought under McGhee Reading played the most attractive football I've ever seen from the Royals/Biscuitmen. I think providing their fitness levels were up to what current players can sustain through advances in sports science etc. (even though it wasn't that lo...

Midnight in Oz. Second half coming up. I'll be happy with a draw (although I have a horrible feeling Owen is going to put one past us and wrap it up for the Toon) but this is by far and away the best Reading perfomance I've seen for a long time this season which isn't saying a great deal but better ...

It's half time and I'm watching this live in Oz. Errr...I don't actually think either of Lita's chances were as clear cut as everyone says. First was right at his feet and second, sure,he should have hit it first time but he is not Ian Rush or Michael Owen. Yes, should have scored but the idea they ...

Our biggest worry is that Steve will leave because he becomes disillusioned. Reading's best ever manager. I think, right now, unless things change there is a damn good chance we will go down but the most stupid mistake we could make is to change the managerial team even if we are relegated. Good pos...

I feel fairly confident that with Fae and Convey starting and Rosenoir instead of Murty (sorry Murts) there is plenty of time to turn things around and be well out of the relegation slot by January. Coppell has been really fair and loyal with players and given them a chance and, simply, it isn't wor...

How did it compare to 'the goal' which a certain Mr Friday scored against Tranmere? Hasn't been mentioned for a t least a fortnight.
