Re: The magic of the FA Cup

I don't know enough about the layout of Old Trafford but is it possible that we could either take 3k or say 10/11k to ensure segregation of fans. If so, then the club would have to factor in if they think they could sell 11k given they have to pay for them - I would say they weren't confident so we...

Re: United Away FAC - Financial Windfall?

An interesting read. As a benefactor of being a long term season ticket holder, I can see how the current situation is deemed unfair to younger supporters. If this is the reason they ignored loyalty points for this game, they would have been prudent to restrict it to two tickets per applicant. The i...

Re: The magic of the FA Cup

I suspect a material percentage of our allocation will be taken by Man Utd fans who have been to the odd Reading game, plus three of their Man Utd supporting mates

Brogue Sold out. Within 30 mins of being on sale. Managed to bag my two tickets feel sorry for those who will miss out. Club vastly underestimated the demand. As did a few nobbers on here...

Taking only 3,000 tickets was a poor decision.

Not using the loyalty points system was an infathomable one

Re: United Away FAC - Financial Windfall?

Judging by the website this morning, I think the club may have seriously underestimated demand for this and will regret not using the loyalty points system. I logged on at 9.58 and was randomly allocated place 1068 in the queue at 10.00am. With each applicant being entitled to 4 tickets, assuming my...

Theroyalbox On Trainline suggests trains are running to Clapham Junction, does anyone know any different due to strikes?

Not what I'm seeing, trains are running to both Paddington and Waterloo but with less frequency than normal

I'd replace Joao with Carroll if he is any more than 50% match fit

Re: Brian 3.0

Appointing Warnock would be the final straw for me, I have been a fan for over 50 years but could not support a team with him as manager. He is the antithesis of everything Reading once stood for.

Re: BFTG - Kidderminster (A)

‘Adkins’ Wealdstone 1976 anyone? George Duck Yep, was at that, I think we were a division 4 side (?) at the time so not as humiliating as this. Also IIRC, we actually applied some pressure when behind, unlike yesterday when we were never getting back in the game in a million years. On the plus side...

Re: BFTG - Kidderminster (A)

Well I've been watching Reading since the early seventies and that was up there with the worst Reading performance I have ever seen. It was arguably the worst result in the 150 year history of the club. I'm torn between thinking that you should not judge a manager, and even sack them, based on the p...

Re: Season Ticket Refund?

I'll watch some of the iFollow and let the club keep the overpayment. My only gripe is that decision means I also forgo a refund on the Car Park Pass which is extortionate and, given the choice, I would have taken a refund on as it's exploitatively expensive

Re: Season Ticket Refund?

Anyone asking for a refund should be immediately banned by the club. None of this is their fault and they owe you nothing. Well it's not the fault of airlines that they have to cancel flights but I don't think anyone would argue that their customers are entitled to a refund for flights they paid fo...

Season Ticket Refund?

Is there any suggestion that season ticket holders will be refunded for the games that will not be played or are behind closed doors?

Personally, I'd be happy to waive this but only if the players/management accept a pay cut or do their bit in some other way

Re: Worst Reading games

I'd throw in a couple of Blackpool games here Firstly, away in about 1979, I think it may have been Boxing Day, 10 hour round coach trip to be 3-0 down in about 20 minutes, 4-0 at half time and finished 5-2. My first ever "why am I bothering?" moment Secondly, 1-1 at home to Blackpool I th...

As I said, I thought Araruna played OK Looking at whoscored, just one player rated higher than him, 8 lower 6.5 Rafael 6.4 Araruna 6.4 Yiadom 6.4 Ejaria (????) 6.3 Olise 6.3 Morrison 6.1 Swift 6.1 Richards 6.0 Moore 6.0 Adam 5.9 Pele 5.9 Meite Presumably these marks are out of 100 I've been a regul...

Re: FA Cup away day memories

I did two Cup away days with the supporters club in the 70's. Wealdstone has already been reported on in extenso . Got beat 2-1, George Duck scored 2 for them. We all ran back to the coaches because Aldershot had about 20 hooligans there to attack us. "Run, they're coming". True story. He...

Re: FA Cup away day memories

League Cup away day memories. Brief for me. 1977 we had beaten Watford 2-1 in the home leg, first round. I went in a friend's dad's car to the away leg, lost 0-1, and then to the replay five days later, lost 5-0. From memory, we were the only away fans in the ground both times, or so it seemed. Any...

Freezing cold, fairly comfortable win
