I think that was Millwall, as I recall I took my daughter to her first and last game, she had no interest in anything except the police horses.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Derby County (h)

I thought that was the best I've seen us play for a while. We had an energy that has been absent for a while and I didn't see at Wigan. The team battled and scrapped to stop Derby playing and we played some nice stuff. Derby had no shots on target. A mention for the ref, I thought he did well despit...

Re: Wigan (A)

Some local info. The walk to the ground from the station goes past Wigan Pier but don't bother. it's quicker to go to the left where the road splits and go via the canal tow path just over the bridge than go right on the road and around Asda/Retail park. I would have suggested a detour to Trencherf...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Wigan Athletic (a)

Apparently money has been put together for a hotel for this one: https://twitter.com/james_e1871/status/1748042573057245446 I'm assuming the players/staff are paying for it themselves, but that's a positive at least. The last point is worrying if not surprising, no money for the wages or HMRC. Anot...

Re: Wigan (A)

Already here. After heavy snow yesterday it's all pretty well melted away on the roads.

Just returned from the Spoons in Wigan where they had £1 a pint Doombar, not sure that will last till Saturday but the equally nice Ruddles was £1.77 a pint

After the protests if you were Dai what would you do?
A) Realise you'd made a mess of things and after being told off by the EFL pay up and see the club right to the end of the season
B) Ignore everything and stop funding the club.

I don't think we need a poll.

IIRC we got fined £50k for the post Bradford pitch invasion, so I'd expect the fine to be a lot more than that.

Elm Park Kid Didn't Blackpool fans force out the owner through protest and not turning up?

No, I'm pretty sure it was a Russian co-owner.

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

I think our overheads were too high for a division one club, think Dai is trying to get us to break even as he can not get funds out of china. This would avoid administration whilst a sale takes place - hopefully! Nobody other than Dai can put the club into administration. True but any creditor can...

Re: I've lost count - Embargos, HMRC Payent defaults, non payment of wages, the usual under Dai Wrongge

I don't understand how we've let all the academy players who've got into the first team and been decent - not have a contract after this season. We're literally letting money walk out the door when we should be selling these players to fund the academy.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Wigan Athletic (h)

There's a complete lack of belief that is starting to turn, even at 2-0 up you still think we are going to contrive to lose it. This is the first game that hasn't happened. A few more of these and the fans will be on side.

I have to say that if ever I was in the market for a car lease deal I'd go straight to Select Car Leasing.

They really are building some kudos with Reading fans.

Re: I've lost count - Embargos, HMRC Payent defaults, non payment of wages, the usual under Dai Wrongge

There's also a finite pool of coaches, and sacking a load of them before Xmas isn't going to help if we ever wanted to get Cat 1 back. Certainly if I was a coach I wouldn't come to Reading without an iron clad contract.

I think the details are quite interesting around how lauded club saviours turn out to be shyters in it for themselves.

We're likely to see similiar.

Re: I've lost count - Embargos, HMRC Payent defaults, non payment of wages, the usual under Dai Wrongge

It does seem odd that the cause of these issues is not having enough money. So we're not going to have enough money to set aside 125% of wages in few weeks time along with another wage bill that's due and another tax bill. On top of that they want him to pay a fine. We can barely pay the wages witho...
