Re: Stam Gone

I think spending the sort of money we did has shown itself not to be any real measure of success either. I'd be far more interested in bringing through some of the players we have in the U23. The squad is far too bloated as it is.

Re: Reading or England?

Lucky man Royal and Ancient. What an experience it must have been

Coming up to date, England piss about with it more at the back than we did under Jaap. Quite entertaining though

Re: Leaving Games Early...?

The only time I ever have is this season actually. Sheff Utd and Brum I left 3 or 4 mins early (but didn’t regret it)

Re: Stam Gone

So Johnny Mad describes Stam as a 'sweet sweet man' who still had the players onside. As he quite rightly points out though, it's a results based business. That's right John, and we certainly didn't need a confectioner in charge of the lads :) saw that. Sweet man who the players loved. Not what I e...

Re: Stam Gone

Jaap Stam is the best club manager I've worked for Remind me who else has managed him The Chronicle are an absolute joke. There is nothing in that article that is anywhere near fuming. They wonder why the club hate them and they never get any scoops? tbf, they recycle any old sh!t because the club ...

Re: You're Paul Clement - how do you set up for QPR?

One thing I'd not really considered was the internationals. A couple of them (Gunter and Bacuna) have had quite long journeys and played a couple of full games.

Reckon Bacuna might not start for us for that reason. Quite possibly been working with a specific group in training without him there

Re: Reading or England?

I'm actually pretty keen for the national team to do well. Unfortunately one of the biggest turn offs for me is the group of absolute bell ends who follow them round causing trouble - ie all the 10 German bombers rubbish I actually quite like the players - they seem a decent bunch nowadays, and I li...

Re: Reading or England?

I, not being English, don't particularly want England to win a World Cup. Mainly because I don't want to keep hearing about it for the next 50 years of my life. Surprised you even have internet in cork tbf. I left Cork to find internet. Found my way to Paris where the locals don't talk about...

Sums this site up at the moment when a nice read about one of our up and coming stars only ends up in a discussion as to how accurate the headline is

Re: You're Paul Clement - how do you set up for QPR?

He's surprisingly skillful and one of the best crossers of the ball we've got. Stick him on the left wing. Seriously  I was thinking this for an ultra defensive 442 setup to not concede. Just play every game stifling the opposition to get 0-0 draws and the odd win. think that is an option. Pla...

Re: CONFIRMED - Yakou Meite

Had beefs everywhere else this week so why not? Anyway did notice it as well and fair play to the lad. Hopefully come back here next year, reckon there’s a handy player there He just needs to stay off his phone and snapchat and concentrate on the football. You can see why Stam didn't fancy him. yea...

Re: You're Paul Clement - how do you set up for QPR?

Wouldn't stray far from that. I'd bring Elphick back in as long as he can just about run tbh. I think I'd stay 4-3-3. Aluko is a tough one - he has been so bad recently that he certainly doesn't deserve a place in the side, but how much that was Stam's fault its difficult to say. I'd consider giving...

Re: Reading v QPR Official Predictions Thread

Not sure QPR are up to 3 decent away performances in a row

But then don’t know how much Clement can do in a week. Team selection very interesting and important - just hope Elphick is back

Will go for a 2-0 home win. 1-0 at half time

Re: CONFIMRED - Paul Clement appointed as new Royals boss

Any chance we could not spend our time dredging up past criticism of our new manager and get behind him to see how he does over the next 18 - 25 games before complaining? It’s a fair point JMW. Could easily find as many positive posts about him and plaster them all over here as well Give the chap a...
