Re: Pure Speculation - Tshibola

I'm not sure its necessarily attitude issues as such. Not seen any evidence of that previously I think he'd played just about every game for MK Dons until that admittedly stupid sending off. Wonder if the boss went on one at him for it and he reacted or something along those lines anyway, would be a...

Re: RUMOUR - Lewis baker

I guess it can't be easy to settle as a 22 year old to be plucked from the posh surroundings of Chelsea and be dumped into Middlesbrough with no family or friends I think there is something in that. Said at the time that Reading would make sense being local. Boro is a very long way from home if thi...

Re: RUMOUR - Lewis baker

just noticed this on another website on an article about Chelsea loanees. Not sure if suggests a dodged bullet or just a poor move on Baker's behalf: Lewis Baker – Middlesbrough Has not appeared in the Championship since an 11-minute cameo in September and has failed to make Garry Monk’s matchday sq...

Re: The "reward youth" debate

I think they treat the U23 stuff very seriously, and thats why the players that have got their chance have done so.

Certainly Barrett earned his place on the bench on the strength on his performances in that league

Re: Injury watch 2017-18 season

JLow is on hols this week according to his twitter. Don't think anyone there does anything on the football side except him

Thanks for info muirinho - thats good to know. And agree, Anssi gets a chance, and Bond can stay at Peterboro unless we absolutely need to bring him back

Re: Injury watch 2017-18 season

Well I am pretty sceptical on the Manonne injury, the OS is up and running today, surely something as important as this would headline news? Chron reporters have tweeted it i believe a loan can be cancelled at any time if both clubs agree. Also that you can recall in January, if a clause has been p...

Guessing Joey, Ilori, Kelly, Bodvarsson and Evans will all be fit for Wolves. Along with McCleary

Re: The "reward youth" debate

The best bet imo really is to have a network of clubs (like Bath) where you can give the players first team action but also get reliable reports and know they are being looked after

Re: The "reward youth" debate

Bond's a strange one. They rated him last season as well from what I could gather. I'd have thought he'd been a good backup for Mannone tbh, but Stam doesnt seem to particularly like him at all Obvs he didn't do brilliantly for us, but thought he had potential. Would be a little sad to see him just ...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

Likewise just seen them. Shocker from Legg

2 very tidy goals for Popa. Tbf to McCleary been playing a long time carrying an injury - absolutely no point him playing until totally 100% fit again - no need to play half fit players

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

I feel sorry for Popa. Clearly a good lad, effort can't be faulted at all, and a half decent player.

Stam just for whatever reason doesnt rate him - and tbh, if McCleary and co are back after the international break, he'll prob not be even getting in the squad

Re: The "reward youth" debate

Meite has all the raw attributes to be a superb player, I just think his footballing brain is holding him back currently. I see similarities with him and Kebe 08-10, but with a bit of guidance I could see him become a tidy player - hopefully that will be with us. Anyone know how Meite's loan is goi...

Re: The "reward youth" debate

Not sure what point you’re tying to make there

Mendes was definitely au unknown and overall hasn’t worked out. But he was a relatively cheap gamble and I think if he’d not been so constantly injured may have been an ok signing

Re: The "reward youth" debate

Mendes has looked reasonably useful when fit. End of last season he was a good option. He could have been pretty good this year I think, but think its time to consign him to RFC history
