Re: Madjeski and Howe

Much as it is possible to criticise SJM and Nigel ( two very different and possibly flawed personalities ) they ultimately had the best interests of RFC at the centre of what they did, albeit for different reasons. They knew little about football, but were guided and influenced by Nick Hammond and I...

Re: Lee Heron to Arsenal

Good move for Lee, and my understanding is that he will work alongside Mertesacker (not for him). But this will have major implications on the Academy EPPP category1 status. We only scrapped through last time, primarily through Eamonn Dolan's excellent relationship with Ged Ruddy, and his superb bla...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

Aaron was injured whilst on trial at Aldershot (TCL) . Won't be back until well into New Year. He's not really played for 2 + years now. Unfortunately can't see him playing pro football again. Pity because in the Academy was a standout player in his year group

Re: Witty?Humorous Player Nicknames

Thought Murts was sick note, certainly his wife was as well at the school she taught at (some times)

Jim McIntyre was known as "Big Yin" for his very large appendage, and his somewhat direct chat up line to the ladies "Do you want to see the biggest XXXX in football?"

Re: Tommy Jenkins.

I seem to remember that his last game for us was against Brentwood in the cup, in 1969. I went along as I had just joined Ford, and he was marked by Dave Jones, a local estate agent, who had just rented us a flat. We lost 1-0. Really bad day. I thought he was an amazing player, and shortly after wen...

Who was the Reading player sent off in that game. If I remember it was a case of mistaken identity ?

Seamus Dolan

Eamonn's son will lead the Reading team out at Wembley. This is a great gesture to recognise the enormous contribution Eamonn made to getting many of our players to where they are today. Well done to those responsible.

Came on as a sub for Palace in Big Sam's first game. Looks unlikely that he would be allowed to move as he would want to strengthen squad.

Re: Bye Nicky

Having raised nearly £10 mil through sales this season ( Hector, Blackman, Sa ) on their instructions, my understanding is that not one of the owners nor the omnipresent Paroj made any contact with NH during the leaving process unlike SJM.

Absolutely NO CLASS !!

Re: Chris Davies in as first team coach - Terry Burton depar

Thought Chris Davies was excellent after the game when he immediately ran onto pitch to stop Blackman making a real nob of himself by confronting Cottrell. Steven Reid was also there giving support. Despite Cottrell's antics Blackman does have serious issues and the quicker he goes the better.
