Re: BFTG - Barnsley home

Royal Ginger Not generally a fan of Blackett, but fair fcuks today, he made some crucial defensive contributions.

But ruined it by being uncertain on the ball and losing it in some key areas

Re: Anyone For Chinese?

Nigel Howe cam over and gave him a warm handshake a few minutes ago and now they've disappeared off together.

Wouldn't be at all surprised if he's involved in a separate takeover bid and tbh for me this points towards the Chinese deal being dead in the water

Re: The Next Nine

Barnsley are only 2nd to Newcastle in the form guide for the last 8 away games with 5 wins. so that if far from a walk in the park. Their away wins haven't been overly impressive though, they tend to fall short against teams in the higher places. And they've lost 3 of their better players during Jan

The fact he was playing in Holland while Brian & Jaap were out there probably adds a bit of credence to the rumour.

Re: Anyone For Chinese?

For the record - we borrowed £10.4m from them - you can put your life on the fact that was the hold up with the Ilori deal. Where's the rest of the money going I wonder? Brilliant digging there Looking at it positively in the short-term hopefully that is all for transfers (including Ilori deal) Ass...

Re: Anyone For Chinese?

So. A charge was registered at Companies Hourse yesterday. Basically meaning that we've borrowed money from somebody and in return we've offered security on that debt (in the same way that you would offer your house as security on a mortgage). The Charge document is between ourselves and a company ...

Re: Latest set of company accounts

Okay having actually proper read GetReading's report which BR's question was based on, and the financial statements, you'll be unsurprised to hear that GetReading are talking out their arse. What they are calling 'net debt' is only the current assets less the current liabilities. In non-accountancy ...

Re: Latest set of company accounts

Thanks, and forgive my ignorance here, but how do they do that (convert to equity)? They'll issue new shares (to themselves) at the value of the debt they are converting. They're essentially writing off the loans as in the case of administration it is very difficult for equity holders to get their ...

Re: Latest set of company accounts

Presuming these are the same accounts that the Evening Post did an article on the other day, I'll ask the same question that went unanswered on there: If we lost £15m this year, how come the debt only went up by £5.3m? . In order to comply with FFP, the Thais converted some of the loans due to them...

Re: Rumour - Tiago Ilori

Brightons CBs? You mean Lewis "got knocked out in a bar fight by just some bloke" Dunk and Shane "scored 2 own goals then got red carded before he could get a hat-trick" Duffy are the blueprint for CBs in the Champ? They're the best CB pairing in the league by quite some distanc...

Re: Latest set of company accounts

A highlight for me is the emphasis of matter paragraph in the auditor's report that casts doubt over our ability to continue as a going concern. I doubt that means anything to anyone but accountants like myself, but it sums up that set of accounts quite nicely. Interesting to see that we can sidest...
