Re: Now starts the re-build

No rebuild necessary. We've got the bones of an excellent team and I can't see any reason we'd lose most of them. A few signings tostrengthen and a clear strategy for the shape we'll take. Not getting promoted is great news for the likes of Watson, Kelly, Evans, Swift Stacey and co who all get anoth...

Re: Can we all agree...?

None of you could have stepped out in front of 80+ thousand people and took one. Having got the jelly legs at an under-15s five-a-side tournament and scuffed my shootout kick into the ground, the ball pea-rolling into the keeper's waiting foot, I wholly agree! oxf*rd that shit. They're professional...

Re: The Shame Your Block Thread

I thought both sets of fans were poor to be honest. Huddersfield marginally better. But mostly due to their team having all the 'excitement' and those gawdawful plastic clapper things.

Winston Biscuit
nonsensical cliched pundit talk.

Without looking it up who finished 2nd in the Premier League in 88/89?

Didn't exist m8

I couldn't tell you who won the league in any given year and nor could a lot of football fans, so it's bullshit anyway.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Huddersfield Town v Reading, Play Off Final, 29 May 2017 (Wembley)

We were very unlucky and Huddersfield were very lucky. Sorry, but that just isn't true. We weren't unlucky - we were awful. They say you make your own luck, well we didn't make anything. Today was hardly any different to the Fulham games. The only difference was against Fulham Joey played one ball ...

Re: BFTG - Wembley

moo The real highlights were being told to sit down every 10 seconds from daytrippers.. in the singing section.

I think it was Ian Royal and his mum.

Not bloody likely.

Re: The Shame Your Block Thread

Royal Ginger 115 had one bloke who mistakenly thought he was conducting the whole stand

"Daddy"?

It was bit sit down and be quiet in 115 for my liking. But tbf the team didn't really give anything to cheer.

Good luck, I fear you'll get smashed, as we would have done if we made it. You managed to scrape the win just about, despite managing to miss several gilt edged chances.

The correct answer is
Walsall worse than Bolton worse than Huddersfield worse than Swansea.

Re: Can we all agree...?

McCleary didn't even step up for a pen despite taking them during the season.

McShane wasn't available to even play.

But my escapegoat is Grabban. Loads of the ball, zero goal threat. Same as always. Added bonus, he's not our player (and hopefully never will be). Not even worth a motivational boo.

Re: Oh well.

Great season but not good enough on the day. A thoroughly Chris Gunter performance from too many... timid, cautious and negative. Williams looked the only one trying to win. Huddersfield should have buried at least two clear chances to our none. Knew Obita would miss from the look of his run up. Why...

Re: How Nervous Are We All?

I'm in two minds. Out of the 3 playoff finals we've been involved in, this seems the one we have the best shout in. And the fact that it's 22 years to the day since the Bolton game is making it a touch more important in my own head. 14 year old me, who was gutted for months after that final, wants ...

AthleticoSpizz I genuinely have never been any less bothered by a play-off.

My only expectancy is a decent performance.

TBH I'd rate runners up in the PL higher than Europe's little brother of a cup or the League Cup.

Re: Predictions: Huddersfield - Play-off Final

2-1 Reading, but it's really too close to call confidently.

Expected Swansea and Arsenal victories. Didn't really have any context for Bolton and expected to beat Walsall, so 2 out of 3 for me on big games out.
