Re: Embargos, HMRC Payment defaults, non payment of wages, the usual under Dai Wrongge

Is there a cut-off point for points deductions? The season ends on the 27th of April. Could there be a situation where we stay up by a point, then get deducted points because we missed a payment at the end of April, or May even? I think (but not 100% certain) it's the same as the old transfer deadl...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Shrewsbury Town (h)

For all the criticism of Button, not entirely justifed for me, we could still have won the game with a small degree of composure. Instead it was just a smorgasbord of individual errors, from miscontrolling the ball, to poor passes, to poor decisions, to not learning how to pick out a player in the b...

Re: Who do you consider to be a rival?

Bolton, always Bolton, similar modern day trajectories, and they fukkin’ owe us….always will I do dislike everything about Bolton because of that day, but in no way would I call them 'rivals'. They are just a club I don't like. I think knocking seven past them was quite cathartic. They did also put...

Re: The Non - League thread

Sounds like the owner there bought in with his sights on moving to a new ground and developing Plainmoor. If they can get a new owner who is interested in the club, rather than a property development, this could work out OK for them in the long run. A club in administration should be cheaper to buy,...

stealthpapes a win takes us to touching distance of 40 pints and we won't need too many more than that to stay up*.

Anyone who can stay up after 40 pints is doing exceptionally well

WestYorksRoyal Though in the interest of balance, we have some pretty detestable fans on the Twittersphere too.

Let's face it - the twitter spats are our bellend fans who think they are being funny v their bellend fans who think they are being funny. The odds of anyone coming out it with any credit aren't good.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Portsmouth (a)

Really have had a load of dodgy keepers coming to the club since, probably, Mannone was here (and he wasn't the greatest). But since the idiot ownership has caused the club not to be able to trade properly what can you expect, either what we have or a load of youngsters still finding their way. Wer...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Portsmouth (a)

I think we dished it out at the time. Which is surprising for Derby in particular, given we were poorly run at the time and clearly at risk of going in the same direction. When it was Pompey, it was just one of those things that happened to other clubs which we didn't feel at risk from. I feel with...

Does that mean that these offers have met Dai’s valuation of the club? It sounds like a way of making no...

Snowflake Royal It would seem pretty on brand for us to end up surviving relegation fairly comfortably only to be liquidated in July / August.

If there's no takeover on the horizon, it'd be a brave individual who'd buy a season ticket when renewal time comes around

I've been there once, for a random game, as a mate was driving up to watch Carlisle City play*. It's an odd ground, but the strangest thing to me was that the home end wasn't very popular. Fans seemed to prefer the uncovered side terrace. I liked it, but I can't imagine the view is great from the en...

So I’m hearing in the grapevine charlton fans are planning on going in the home section dotted around all the stands pretending to be Reading fans. Then they will invade the pitch on 16 minutes pretending to be Reading fans protesting about dai so we get our suspended points deduction which could h...

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

Odd! Their previous manager, Westley, was a right gamemanship merchant too, a bit of a winder- upper to say the least. Like you say, probably at their peak this season anyway. Didn't he stitch up Farnborough too? When he was Farnborough manager he sold Stevenage some players for strangely cheap pri...

Re: Embargos, HMRC Payment defaults, non payment of wages, the usual under Dai Wrongge

At the crux is how money is filtered down the entire football pyramid. Fairer distribution. Given lower league clubs make far less from player sales these days. I'd like to see a smoother, more even, distribution of money, but that's not why clubs are struggling. They are struggling because they wi...

Snowflake Royal So Dai is making a minimum loss on sale (should that actually happen) of about £160m, but probably closer to £175m.

What a great business man.

Still a better investment than his Evergrande shares

Re: Confrimed - Abbey and Holmes going

Maidenhead? On a train line, fits 4000 which we'd sell out every week. A decent start, and perhaps we could lease the SCL when we progress enough. Though I presume the phoenix club would refuse to pay Dai a penny as a point of principle. I think Maidenhead is the only realistic option. Going to Wyc...
