Re: When was your first Reading game?

Taken as a nipper to my first game around the late 80's, early 90's. Dont remember any of it as I was so young... as always has to be against one of the old foes, and was against the original Aldershit

First I can remember... Luton in the 1995 playoff season

Re: Worst matchday experience?

For worst all round experience rather than worst performance (but incorporating a terrible performance) i'd go with Rochdale away circa 1980. In those days we used to take two coaches at most to away games up north many of whom were women or pensioners, therefore, there were only a handful of young...

Re: Worst matchday experience?

Maccesfield away, think it was 1998. Peeing down with rain, crap ground, got beat.

Bristol Rovers Home, god only knows when, 6-0... less said the better.

Re: Colours to the mast, pick your relegation candidates

Villa, Norwich , Saints possibly Fulham getting dragged down in to it. They are notoriously bad away and always think they are therefore only a couple of poor home results from trouble. Just watched a re-run of the 7-4 game v Pompey on ESPN classic - I didn't realise how bad that side was: Gunnerso...

Re: Colours to the mast, pick your relegation candidates

West Ham, unfortunately, have already loaned the man who will keep them up. Norwich and Aston Villa look like sacrificial lambs but, I would guess, at last one of those two will escape through luck or good sense in the January window. Southampton could end up anywhere in the bottom 10. In terms of ...

Re: We should have bought another striker!

We've got plenty of strikers. Pog has the potential to be one of our best signings of recent times. It's only been two games and we're still not even sure of who to play with him. Him and Alf could end up being amazing. Him and Roberts could be even better, with Alf as an impact sub, just like last...

Re: SIGNED: Chris Gunter

With some signings, such as Pogrebnyak and Guthrie, you can look at them and see exactly why we signed them. That's not the case with Gunter, who (to me at least) doesn't appear to be any better than Cummings. I'd be interested to see how well Cummings could link up with McCleary, if Kebe is out of...

RUMOUR: Kevin Doyle

It is understood from an Everton friend that both us and them are in for Doyle. My friend admits they are really keen on him and said we should keep our noses out as we have been butting into loads of deals (dont think they like us either), but it is understood he would prefer a move to the Madejski...

Re: McCleary for England???

Lot of decent English wingers in the premiership though, McCleary would have to be playing at a high standard consistently for some time and starting ahead of Kebe week in week out. I'd say that every team in the league has someone ahead of him in the pecking order tbh I wouldnt agree with that. Lo...

RUMOUR: Néstor Araujo

Interesting rumour I've just been told of. Supposably a left back who is keen on a move to England, to eventually "play in Europe". Supposably we have a scout over in Mexico

McCleary for England???

After watching his first two games, and the pre-season, I think this chap has come into his own. I hope I'm not wrong but I seriously think he could be our best ever signing. But could he play for England considering how well he has been playing and that this is a weak poisition for the national tea...

Re: Chelsea fan in peace

Hello all, welcome back to the Premier League! Few questions about Wednesday: (1) What do you predict the score to be? (2) Are you pleased with Reading's summer transfers? (3) Any Reading players to watch out for at the Bridge? (4) If you could take 2 Chelsea players for Reading's square, who would...
