Re: Ins and Outs – 2017/18

You've used this argument before. Garath McCleary's record must be virtually identical, but you've never made the same case about him. I wonder why! It's probably because it's transparently evident in McCleary's game that timidity and caution aren't an issue. There are clear differences to their ca...

Re: Huddersfield fan here

But had we won, would we have been where Swansea are now? No. Why? Because Swansea had a set up to work, they used their brains a lot more. They set out to play a style of football and put in managers who wanted to play that style of football. We, on the other hand had Coppell and his kick and rush...

Re: Can we all agree...?

Moore's penalty was probably struck a bit too hard, if you're going into the roof of the net, it doesn't need the power as the keeper's got no chance. The extra power makes it a little less reliable accuracy wise. But it's a really really tough penalty to take hitting it there. Fair play if he'd pra...

Re: Auf Wiedersehen £170m

Neither of our promotions in the past seem to have improved the club's financial position longer term, indeed, the second one seems to have nearly bankrupted it. Unless you can go up and stay it, the club itself seems to make sod all, the players/agents etc more so Mostly the case, although iirc ov...

Re: Tag yourself at Wembley.

It's obviously a composite taken throughout the game. As you can tell by Moore appearing twice and several people having weird distorted faces from where two images of them from different moments have been digitally stitched together.

Re: Ins and Outs – 2017/18

Not to start another Gunter debate but he's about as good an attacking fullback as anyone could expect in the championship. He's arguably top quality when it comes to getting forward, overlapping his winger and putting a cross in. He's a great right back, no doubt about that, he's a top professiona...

Re: Now starts the re-build

Well a lot more than the final, which was a particularly bad example.

In any case I don't see the outcomes as 1 for 1. A small increase in flair and ambition will result in a big increase in attacking quality.

Re: Now starts the re-build

RFC shopping list: No. 9 that can play Kermorgant's role in his absence No. 10 cover Williams re-signing/Williams replacement Fullback cover, one player capable of playing both sides will do +1 Although I see Kermorgant as a number 10 with no pacey no 9 playing alongside. It's like Butler and Curet...

Re: Now starts the re-build

Gunter will never ever maraud. He spent most of the final passing sideways or telling the person on the ball to pass to someone other than him. I don't think I've ever seen him take someone on other than deep in the final third and he rarely attempts the positive key ball forward to feet.

Was Mooy their number 10 in midfield? Him and Williams the best players on the park by miles. He gave us huge problems.

Re: Now starts the re-build

Key to the way we play is moving he ball with an abrupt change of pace and purpose, combined with stretching the pitch with movement. Kelly is very good at this. He should be one of the first names on the team sheet next season. Swift ought to have been good at this, but is pushed off the ball too ...

Re: Thank you Danny Williams

Cheers Danny, not a favourite of mine, but no one could ever fault your work rate or desire. The minimum fans expect which many playrrs fail to deliver. Some absolute belters for us in your time here and a real midfield engine driving us forward. Really finished the season strongly. Thank you and go...

Re: Can we all agree...?

And if you can't control the nerves you're not good enough. There aren't too many players that have never, ever, missed a penalty. Are none of them good enough? You'd turn down David Beckham, Gareth Southgate, Alan Shearer from your fantasy Championship team, to name but three? this must win prizes...

Re: The Shame Your Block Thread

Stupidest things heard at the game - As I left a teenager near me in block 114 - "We'll beat them next season when they come down" He did then go on to talk about us signing Ronaldo and Messi, how he wants Huddersfield to go bankrupt and that he will punch the Huddersfield fans. I think h...

Bloody brilliant watching it pan out from afar. Thoroughly revitilising Maybe if you and your mum didn't come to the final we might have won. Maybe get a refund on this ST too? :? There's a line in the T&Cs that they're non refundable now... Don't recall it being there last year, just the norma...

I have a theory that a team who misses one of their first two penalties to fall behind often score the rest and go on to win.

Re: Ins and Outs – 2017/18

My only disagreement is we should sign improvements to our starting XI where we're weak, not cover. Harsh as that maybe on the likes of Obita.
