Re: Ups & Downs 23/24

I believe, if I've calculated this right Portsmouth need seven more points to be automatically promoted from League One: a win for them against Shrewsbury and a Bolton loss at Bristol Rovers would mean Bolton could only finish above Portsmouth on goal difference. At the other end, Carlisle will be r...

Re: Do you ever wear a football shirt?

I stopped wearing them to games around five years ago, but have started wearing them again in the past year or two when going to games (I put them on about ten minutes before leaving and take them off almost as soon as I'm home). The recent tops I bought (this year's away and third kits) were the fi...

Re: Season Tickets 24/25

No finance option available. Does seem odd, albeit I think it was only last season I found out finance was even an option. I imagine if you contact the club, as you'd like have to anyway to arrange for it, they'd give you details on that. I`ll do what I`m sure many others will do, we need an assura...

Re: Season Tickets 24/25

As the numbers of STHs only appear publicly in financial accounts, I've estimated how many STHs we've got. Findings These figures will include a small number of people who've purchased a new 2024-25 season ticket, but the stadium seat map suggests we have around 8,600 STHs at present (including half...

Re: Hob Nob Anyone? player of the season 2023/24

I think that's true - using pace and strength tends to stand out in a way good positioning and reading the game doesn't. As you say, Bindon doesn't have exceptional talent, but his mental attributes seem to be where his primary strength is. I certainly think he'll be playing above L1 soon and comfo...

Re: Generic clubs in financial crisis Thread

Apparently that's a Premier League record. Even though it doesn't include money for Caicedo or Sanchez, they made a transfer profit of £121m. They had a pre-transfer loss of £16m. Brighton showing how selling players can make a club sustainable and competitive above their natural revenue. B...

Re: Hob Nob Anyone? player of the season 2023/24

I'd have to say Bindon as well. For someone who's still only 19 and in their first season in senior football, he's a player who could easily go on to play in the Premier League. He's incredibly assured, composed, good in the air, fairly strong, able to put a tackle in and reads the game well. He wa...

Re: Generic clubs in financial crisis Thread

Leicester made a £90m pre-tax loss last season, despite extending their financial year by a month in order to include the Maddison transfer fee in that season's accounts.

They made a gross loss of £124m.

Re: Generic clubs in financial crisis Thread

Opposite end of the scale to Everton is Brighton, who have released their accounts showing last financial year they made a profit of £123M and that doesn't even include the money for Caicedo or Sanchez Apparently that's a Premier League record. Even though it doesn't include money for Caicedo or Sa...

Re: Record Watch 23/24

Surprised you all missed Chesterfield. They won the National League by a mile, and were on course to beat 106 easily. They seem to have gone on cruise mode and have only one win in five. Lost again yesterday, cannot now do 106 8) If that league counted then it would already have been beaten. Wrexha...

Re: Embargos, HMRC Payment defaults, non payment of wages, the usual under Dai Wrongge

He seems to think he had a legal case because the suspended part of the 12 point penalty got applied later, even though it didn't get applied until March of the following season, because we hadn't breached our business plan until then. Arguably we'd chosen to breach it before we signed it and certa...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Lincoln City (h)

Wouldn't be against bringing in Mukairu to start on the left. Would also bring Yiadom in for Mola. Happy with either Savage or Craig. All fair. I just think Mukairu is a headless chicken who makes stupid decisions. But he does add more pace and can get up and down better than Ehib. Could sum up at ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Bolton Wanderers (a)

*Snip* Smith was definitely offside when Wing shot. Officials got that spot on. Saw the replays straight after the goal and it was clear. Solid couple of yards. That figures. Couldn't really judge it I was focused on tracking the ball and when you're on the back row of the upper tier behind the goa...

Re: DJ Mega Party

Are we going to have a do a DJ MegaParty memories thread? Playing Nellie the Elephant whilst that pitch invader ('Pudding') did front flips against Bradford in the FA Cup springs straight to mind. He was back for the game on Friday, I noticed. I thought it sounded like him, but I hadn't noticed he ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Bolton Wanderers (a)

My views after watching the goals back (the highlights only showed the allowed goals and the penalty incident  ). Their first goal was a fantastic strike, but the player wasn't really being closed down (how many times have we said that this season?). Ehib showed naivety by trying to run with t...

Around 550 sold now. Block NS3 has now opened, with NS2 being almost sold out (note the bottom section of the stand appears to be unavailable for purchase at this stage).
