Loafer Alcohol sales now banned in Qatar

Absolutely shambolic

Apparently won’t apply to those who are in the coroporate boxes so getting a bit like Covid really where Covid couldn’t be transmitted if you were a VIP on a jolly somewhere.

Wonder if Budweiser will now sue FIFA for breach of contract?

Re: The place to keep track of RFC players at the World Cup

Note that the FL have granted permission to all member clubs to re-arrange the kick off time or postpone their games on 10 December if they so wish, as if England win their group and progress to the QFs they will be scheduled to play that game at 7pm GMT on 10 December.

Re: Generic clubs in financial crisis Thread

FFP losses currently over 4 years with 2 of those averaged. FFP loss is 26.8m, so no chance of a points deduction. However, they had a 15.8m profit in 2019 which will drop off the calcs, so unless they raise a lot of money in sales soon, it will be virtually impossible for them to meet FFP as anyth...

Re: Ince out!

There are 10 teams between us and the relegation places, realistically, how many of those teams could we say with a degree of confidence right now that they will actually finish above us? I'm not suggesting that means we will for sure finish above all of them, but we could quite easily finish above...

Re: Away Support

Be nice to see the average distance those travelling have done as well. As mentioned its a northern dominant league. Plus Reading basically only have a handful of games under 200 miles round trip in Bristol, QPR, Luton, Millwall and Watford. Then you see that of the closer ones in Luton and Watford...

Re: World Cup Memories

I had a World Cup Esso football collection for 1970 and again vaguely remember filling some of the scores in. The front of this collection was a pic of Bobby Moore held aloft by his teammates in 1966. He was beaming and looked like a film star. I wanted to be him. He was my first sporting hero. Lik...

Re: World Cup Memories

I hated Scotland for qualifying at our expense but I have to say I loved that goal and at that stage they were 3-1 up needing just one more goal to get through. I saw a doc on MacLeod a year or so ago. It was poignant and in the end I thought he was a decent bloke Scotland didn’t qualify at England...

Winner ? Brazil Top goalscorer ? Well Harry Kane is the current holder of the golden boot so Harry Kane is as good as anyone for me Dark horse ? The Netherlands Big team to go home early ? France Thought we'd be playing France but think I have the schedule wrong Small team to get further than we al...

1982 - Racing back to watch England's first match and (again) getting held up en route and arriving ten minutes late so we missed Bryan Robson's (fastest ever WC) goal. Don’t know where the “fact” that Robson’s goal was the fastest ever in a World Cup finals tournament came from (it must have been ...

Weird - I just saw this on fb and came here to post . . . https://iili.io/H9ajtj4.md.jpg Ouch! Worse than Wigan, that really hurts but then after several seasons of utter cr@p under clueless managers it’s going to take a season or so to persuade people again. Funny though that Reading actually aren...

'74 Brazil free kick https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aYDXkVGpMpc&ab_channel=Blochin Bit of a back story behind that which actually explains why the Zaire player did it. It was nothing to do with not understanding the laws of the game. Essentially Zaire played the first game v Scotland and were ...

Re: Qatar Hero - The World Cup 2022 thread

Also, I wonder how teams will find the challenge of kick-off times at this World Cup. When England play the US next Friday, the nice evening kick-off for European viewers will be 10pm local time. Don’t think it is, the BBC and SKY are both showing England v USA as a 7pm kick off so presume your sou...

Let's take a look. Took over Blackburn for the 2008/2009 season. They'd finished 7th in the Premier League under Mark Hughes the previous season. They did have a 9 game trott of one win, three draws, Ince took over, got three wins in his first 6 games, then went on an 11 game run of no wins, three ...

Royals and Racers Shock at Bracknell- 3-0 down to Yate.
F-T 0-3

Presume that’s Bracknell’s way of getting into the right frame of mind for the slightly more difficult trip to Tonbridge on Saturday in the Trophy.
