Re: BFTG United (A)

Sutekh ]

As Brian Clough would have said “if he isn’t interfering with play then what the hell is he doing in the pitch”.

It’s a nice quote but imagine the chaos if it wS used as the basis of applying the offside rule !

Re: BFTG United (A)

So why is it that BT Sport were trying to figure out if Lukaku's offside position was offside? Clearly that would have been a material consideration in whether or not RIchards' foul could warrant a penalty. : 2 possibilities 1. Like many pundits they don’t understand the offside law 2. If Lukaku ha...

Re: BFTG United (A)

Cheers SCIAG. But now I think it should not have been given. Bear with me please.... I haven't rewatched it since your reply but I guess for me the confusion is whether or not Fred is fouling by being in an offside position and clearly looking to accept the ball (which he then did), and so clearly ...

Re: BFTG United (A)

1) Penalty: I don't fully get to be honest... if we foul whilst they are fouling does it count? Like, for the pass just before Lukaku was in an offside position and the pass itself was offside as the foul came in... my head is hurting. But yeah they deserved the pen and the goal anyway. What matter...

Re: Tiago llori

Apparently one bid knocked back. Reading reportedly looking for something around 3m Euro for him. One hopes Reading’ll have the sense to have a suitable replacement lined up before letting him go though. Osho or McIntyre seem more than adequate (presumably Osho if we are wanting a right sided playe...

Re: BFTG United (A)f

I agreed that we looked like a team that has the skill and pace to become a real attacking force. But then it's hard to know how much of that is 'real'; we were playing against a completely make-shift team that was happy to let us have the ball and run as they knew that they could take us apart at ...

Re: Ayub Timbe.

Reliable. Probably going to happen, currently plays for Beijing Rehne so he basically belongs to our owners anyway. A swap deal for Barrow would be nice. He also has a large buy out clause so throw in McCleary and Aluko to sweeten the deal. Why would there be any need to do that ? Surely on a par w...

Already under contract to the Yonge’s Chinese club so not sure what the references to buy out clauses aren’t all about.

Re: January Outs

He’s right in principle but howeasy he will find it to actually move players out is a whole different question. Players are unlikely to accept cuts in wages, the only clubs likely to take players are going to be in lower divisions. We’ll have to heavily subsidise wages which will limit scope for br...

Yes it will, unless we appeal and ask for the bans to be extended.

Snowball Marshall was in charge for 1.5 as many games in 2018 as Gomes

But he wasn’t the manager....

Re: Turning water into wine

Yes. Equally being a good manager doesn't guarantee you'll succeed everywhere, or necessarily anywhere if you take awful jobs. So Clement’s track record as a manager is not down to his managerial ability but his lack of judgement in terms of which jobs he takes ? I didn't mention Clement. Although ...

Not entirely sure where I said that, but I like the way he comes across in these early days. it`s a nice quote Agree with Leon... don't see how that makes him stand out from anyone else in the slightest. Surely it's a given? .......unless there was a problem previously with a manager and players of...

Re: Turning water into wine

Management should involve more than just spending money. If Clement had been able to bring other skills to the job (motivation, man management, tactical awareness, flexibility, improvisation, organisation) he may have stood a chance. It’s lazy to think that without huge sums of money a manager can’...

Re: New Manager

We’re treated like shit are we ? Check how much we pay for tickets, not many clubs where you pay less and they’ve kept prices for STH and kids lowfor several years. We’ve had huge subsidy of expensive cup tickets. In what way do the club treat us badly ? Crowds have dropped because we’ve not been w...
