Re: Brian - Goals on Sunday

Why do people think that the manager of a club on the scale of Reading, would just be handed a budget of £20-30million and then get told to "Spend it on who you want"? I deal with massive budgets day in day out, and I'm ultimately responsible for the results of those budgets - However, I s...

Re: Nigel Adkins - a personal opinion

Great post.

I just question one thing. Your assumption that if we pull off a miracle, that it will be to the detriment of Villa.....at this stage of the season last year, you had 5 points over us.

This season you've only got 4....

Squeaky bum time.

Re: Biggest Managerial Appointment In Our History?

Less Premier League experience than the man we've just sacked = not overly impressive CV.....
Spent £25million more - scored 1 point more in the time at Southampton in the Premier League = not overly impressive CV....

Is it that difficult to understand?

Re: Next Reading Manager

What an utterly BS appointment.

Inferior to McDermott in every way. It's like taking two flat batteries out of the remote, and replacing it with two flatter batteries, and expecting it to work ......

oxf*rd off Adkins. oxf*rd off TSI. oxf*rd off Zingarevich.

Re: Next Reading Manager

I guess so but BHA is generally a pretty exciting project from the outside looking in. Surely only a matter of time before they get to the PL? They're not allowed to play in the Premier League, on the basis that they have a regular attendance of 74 million, and their ground isn't big enough to hand...

Re: Readings New Black Hole in Accounts

also- we probably only really had a better balance book the year before to which these figures are compared because we were still trying to make the business look as attractive as possible to prospective new owners I doubt it. The accounts are what they are - the policies will remain consistent yea...

Re: Do we want to beat Man U?

What the oxf*rd? It's quite clear that Dolan is an option, and right now, the best one on the table. Adkins is an inferior version of McDermott (beaten to the champ by him last season, sacked before him this - he's always been second to McDermott) Di Canio has been ruled out entirely, so isn't even ...

Re: Readings New Black Hole in Accounts

FFS....More newspaper bullshit. FYI My business makes a healthy profit on its activities. When I'm doing the accounts, I make sure that it makes as little profit as possible - whether that be by paying into loans from the directors, or large capital expenditure purchases, or whatever - the less prof...

Re: Players don't want Di Canio

Games with Portsmouth, Tottenham, Arsenal were all exciting in the last few years - doesn't mean I'd want to go through them again.

Playing style is, in my opinion (and the opinion of those who matter) entirely secondary to results.

Re: Players don't want Di Canio

Who cares who they want or don't want! I'm hoping RFC is going to have a big overhaul of players anyway becasue it's time to seriously move on. You need to look about 35 miles to the East of Reading for your club if you think that we should be gutting the club and starting again - they've got a Rus...

Re: Players don't want Di Canio

Quite frankly, what the f*ck has it got to do with the players? If I were to leave the company I work for my employees would have no say in who takes over the department. If they disliked someone then kicked off they would be told to get on with their jobs and let the directors decide who runs that...

Re: MCDERMOTT SACKED

Ridiculously harsh on Brendan Rodgers who has absolutley had the last laugh on Reading. Jimmy Savile could have got Swansea promoted that season - he inherited a Martinez upon which Swansea have won some serious success. It has very little to do with who was in charge really. Last laugh? Not at all...

Re: MCDERMOTT SACKED

How did you feel about Brendan Rodgers 3 year plan being shelved after 6 months by Madejski? . The key difference there, was that Rodgers was given 6 months to establish if his way had any chance of succeeding. He failed time and time again, whilst simultaneously being full of hot air, and was sack...

Re: Zingarevich Out!!!

Except those 4 new cars are still not cars which would make his business viable because he can't afford limousines - just a few Daewoos. So he would have spent all that money, and landed up where he started - whereas with the Ferrari, he could have at least had one incredible car to drive his custom...

Re: Fans' Verdict - Di Canio?

Just read a quote from Trapattoni a few years ago when he was asked about picking Di Canio for Italy ''Di Canio for Italy? Only if there's an outbreak of buconic plague''. Hopefully AZ doesn't compound the mistake he's already made this week and takes a similar view with the Reading job. It will ac...

Re: Zingarevich Out!!!

Except JR wasn't on a free we had to pay. Interesting that AZ provided funds to keep Kebe & get Roberts & that helped us go up yet people are moaning about the supposed lack of money. Surely what has happened this week proves he had money & didn't use it? That's bollocks. If I went to m...

Re: MCDERMOTT SACKED

How, with Antons magic 5 year bulls*** plan, had McDermotts time "run it's course?" If, as a manager in a business, you do a five year plan, and you achieve 50% of your 5 year target in year one - that five year plan, does not get torn up, or even adjusted. It's a five year plan - so it al...

Re: MCDERMOTT SACKED

MmmMonsterMunch Oh dear - your love for BM clearly has clouded your judgement!

How is back to back promotions "bottling it"?!

If so, I fcuking hope we bottle it next season.

Had the title wrapped up 10 games from the end.

We won it.

= Bottled it.

Beaten by? Oh yes....Brian McDermott.
