Re: BFTG - Wembley

My knowledge of football is such that I couldn't give advice to Jaap Stam. I saw the game as being one of us defending a 1-0 lead. That worked very well - Huddersfield had (I think) 2 shots on target throughout the 120 minutes. We didn't really try to go forward and it was a bit of a surprise that w...

Re: The Shame Your Block Thread

Atmosphere was good in 109, too, given the general lack of action on the pitch.

When AAH saved the penalty, I thought I was going to explode. Mind you, when Liam Moore blasted his over, it got a bit quieter.

Re: Which side should the mini-kit be?

I assume 'little-TBM' is your son and not some sort of euphemism.

If it's a euphemism, just wear it whichever side you want. If it's your son, the same.

Re: What a feeling!

Happy Birthday to your little man! Well done on getting him to have his face painted. Mine won't co-operate with me on that score. I had grand visions of hoops all over the face and a big red 13 on each cheek, but no, he won't do it. He's wearing his shirt and his Reading cap, that's as far as he'l...

Re: Programme this season

When at a home game, I like to read about the opposition team. In the past they used to give pen-pictures of the opposing players. So, if I see someone do something good or bad, I want to read about them. Also, as everyone else has said, it does annoy me when they clog up the middle of the programme...

Re: Play Off Final Tickets

Slinky Block 107 for me and the kids - anyone know of decent place to park near (ish) to ground as i'm travelling down from Wirral that morning?

You can park in the Wembley Red Car Park. Right by our end and £30.

Play Offs

In the wake of our success in getting to Wembley, it might be worth remembering that Jack Stacey (Exeter) and Jake Cooper (Millwall) have both helped the teams they are on loan to in getting to Wembley for the Div 2 and Div 1 play off finals.

Good luck to both of them!!

Re: Play Off Final Tickets

Booked 3 in 109. 1 for me (65+ with 1000+ points), 1 for my son (24 with 1000+ points) and 1 for my brother (62 with less than 750 points). It went through very quickly after I realised that I didn't have to enter bro's details on the original screen, simply bought an additional ticket for him on t...

Re: Play Off Final Tickets

I get your feeling about football not being what it was. The 'prize' for winning this game has been quoted as being anything up to £200 million!! The Madejski Stadium plus every player we've ever bought in our entire history is less than that!! You can't, unfortunately, change the current financial ...

Re: Play Off Final Tickets

I get what you're saying, but I didn't go to the SF home game because I reckoned that if went to ET and penalties, I wouldn't get home until stupid o'clock. I spoke to my brother last night, who did go, and he said that the atmosphere was like nothing he'd experienced at a football match before. I n...

Re: Thank You Stam

What Stam actually said (paraphrased): Still got a year left on his contract. Leaving not up to him. Enjoying his time here. If we don't go up this year, there's always next year. Don't want to think about moving on to a PL club, because it'snot really happening. (That's when he said 'Cross that bri...

Re: Huddersfield in trouble over weakened side.

"The Premier League has changed their rules on so-called 'weakened' teams. Top-flight clubs will now be allowed to pick any player in their 25-man matchday squad without fear of sanction from the Premier League. Last season Blackpool were fined £25,000 after manager Ian Holloway made 10 changes...

Re: Huddersfield in trouble over weakened side.

Wednesday, Fulham, Leeds and Brentford played (as far as I know) their full-strength teams against us, as did Newcastle. Who's to say what a club's full strength team is. Maybe Wagner wanted to see how some fringe squad players performed in a league game, which would help hime make up his mind who t...

Re: Huddersfield in trouble over weakened side.

A few people on here have said that Watson should be played in place of Gunter. Whether he's better than Gunter is a matter of opinion, but not that of the manager. But, if we ask the HNA armchair experts, they'd say that Gunter should be dropped. You could probably say the same about most members o...

Re: Huddersfield in trouble over weakened side.

I assume all the players used by Huddersfield were members of the first team squad. That being the case, who has the right to tell Wagner that his team isn't strong enough? Any or all of those players have probably played at some time during the season. Unless the EFL or FA take on the mantle of pic...
