Re: LOLeicester or Southampton to drop?

From what I've heard Leicester are anything but smug? What are you basing that on?

Personally I would rather see Southampton go down.

Re: Wigan Match Thread

FiNeRaIn Fulham will pull off the great escape to send us down, watch this space.

Maybe. If they do they deserve a pat on the back. They have shown a lot of guts and determination with their result today, and by beating us.

Re: Section 60 - Your Rights

Perhaps people are losing sight of what's important about what happened. Innoncent fans were stopped and inconvinenced for a period of time because of a match between Millwall Vs Leeds that was due to kick off 3 hours later, and a match that wasn't going to affect fans like Reading. The BTP were wr...

Re: Section 60 - Your Rights

No-one would have a problem with targeting a single group of people - but I fail to see how any intelligence can suggest that ALL identifiable football supporters can be a legitimate target for S&S. In fact, it was different to that - it was actually ALL people who were wearing football shirts ...

Re: Section 60 - Your Rights

But the Home Office guidelines, updated after the Stephen Lawrence enquiry, explicitly state that stop and search must be intelligence based, and cannot be "based upon stereotyping." Yes, but there is a very fine line between stereotyping, and simply using intelligence to target specific ...

Re: Section 60 - Your Rights

Can I just ask also, why it is that at every home game at the Mad Stad and at at every away game I have been to, female and male stewards have looked in my handbag, but I have never seen them body search a male supporter? Do I have the right to refuse them looking into my handbag if they are not lo...

Re: Section 60 - Your Rights

Turns8 - It's not discrimination. Half of the reasons they had S60 authorisation and officers there to search were for a visible presence, not just to try to find a knife. As well as this, it also leads to intelligence, as everyone they searched would have given their details for the form they fill...

Re: Stop and Search at Reading Station

Section 44 of the Terrorism Act allows anyone to be stopped and searched with resonable force without any suscipion. I have no idea whether this was in force on saturday btw. I'm aware of that one - and it allows for random searches. But I can think of no conceivable circumstance where it's only fo...

Re: Section 60 - Your Rights

I believe that section 60 is used across london at underground stations to help prevent people carrying weapons, not at all surprised that it is used when there are football games going on as well, some folk searched wont even be football fans. However having looked it up a bit i think perhaps SC m...

Re: Section 60 - Your Rights

STAR CAMPAIGNS - your post seems to be quite defensive. I can understand your responsibility in making people aware of their rights, but it does seem to have an element of confrontation about it. S60 is as you say authorised by a senior officer as a pre-emptive piece of legislation to avoid any vio...

Re: Stop and Search at Reading Station

I'm convinced that Thames Valley Police considerably exceeded their legal authority by stopping and searching everyone wearing football shirts/scarves who was bound for London yesterday. Under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1994 (often referred to as "PACE") stop and search can lega...

Re: Section 60 - Your Rights

- A PACE search gives the police the power to search you for "offensive weapons or dangerous instruments". They have no other powers under S60. They can only detain you "for as long as necessary to carry out a search". - The police have no legal power to force you to give them y...

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/m/man_city/7351151.stm If he won't sit on the bench at City why would he want to sit on the bench at Reading? Agree. I do believe Hahnemann is underated and overlooked sometimes. This season he has saved us from 5-0 loses to draws, wins and narrow lose...
