Re: Reading FC Womens World

The Royal Forester I see the Ladies have helped Aston Villa end their run of ten straight home defeats. Have they been training with the men who are good at helping the opposition to end runs like that.

Not sure their own form has been much better tbf

John Smith I only go for the beer. The football just gets in the way.

Nameless
percy_freeman Drinking and football go hand in hand. You don't see any Starbucks at the SCL....

Although in the good times when Bluecollar ran the food it was great to be able to get a decent cup of coffee from the Anonymous guys.

True that. Have to bring my own now.

Re: Cocaine Use At Home/Away Matches

I’d imagine the conversation with people on certain illegals would be far more pleasant than someone who was pissed tbh After all alcohol is a drug just the same, just one that is lucky enough to be illegal. It’d never be allowed if it was just discovered now Cocaine and football is a nasty mix. It ...

Re: Rumour - Thomas-Asante

Oh yeah, for us it’s definitely dropped way off. Weren’t we capped to 21m this season? Suspect we’ll be about that but that’s mainly due to picking up a lot of freebies and loans on small money

Re: Rumour - Thomas-Asante

Just googled and looked back through at the Swiss ramble thread from April last year From the last 3 years which I think is the latest published accounts from each team, only Rotherham on 8m was less than 16m The next was Hull on 18m. All but 5 of the teams had 20m or above Can’t seem to link it but...

Re: Rumour - Thomas-Asante

Of course we will. With the lowest wage budget in the Championship - approximately £20m lower than the big boys? There are only 5 teams in the Championship with a wage bill over £16m this season. 4 have parachute payments, the other is us. If the bulk of the league can operate on an annual wage bil...

Re: How bad would relegation be?

The Irish pub in the Holiday Inn is literally only a 10 minute walk away from the stadium. Callaghan's I think it is. And you have the Victoria Cross (formerly Trooper Potts) next to Morrisons. Only 20 minutes walk and then there's the World Turned Upsidedown on the Amazingstoke road too. Yep. I do...

Stranded Rumours going round today that Derby's admins will confirm the preferred bidder today and that it will be a consortium that includes a certain Mr Mel Morris.

Re: Cocaine Use At Home/Away Matches

I feel like i'm being gaslighted here by people suggesting that it's 'odd' to drink a fair bit before a football match. Sure, it's only a section of fans that do this, and it's probably decreased over the past few decades with out of town stadiums, high drink prices and the general fall in alcohol ...

Re: Cocaine Use At Home/Away Matches

The 'losing your inhibitions' bit with alcohol is part of the football away day experience though as well isn't it? Calling/singing that a load of northerners are c/nts, or an opposition coach is a paedo, claiming that your struggling championship side is the best team in the world seems like a pre...

Re: Cocaine Use At Home/Away Matches

Yeah exactly. I mean I know people do it - and people use the football itself as an excuse for the day out and get away from the wife/kids/whatever. Personally I actually go because I want to watch a football match, and if I wanted to get hammered I could think of a lot better places to do it

Re: Cocaine Use At Home/Away Matches

No and don’t think I’ve ever had more than a couple of pints before a match either because it just seems a bit of a weird thing to be hammered watching a football match, sitting around in a cold stand watching us be rubbish I kind of get why it’s ‘popular’ what with the price of booze in pubs and t...

Not interested in what the Crewe fans think particularly. Obviously didn’t work out there for whatever reason, whereas he had done well at Wimbledon before

It’s cover. Believe he has a bit of pace and height. He may be able to help out this season and earn a contract next - if not, no harm done

Re: How bad would relegation be?

Do wonder if there is any scope to have somewhere around the Kenner island area for a pub or two, as that continues to grow and develop. Could cater for green park housing during the week as well It isn’t that far a walk (or bus) from town to there, and then not too bad a walk from there to the grou...

By which point, he was already being linked to much bigger clubs. Some you win, some you lose. By the time others were interested it was too late There was a window where he was performing for us and was apparently keen to sign a new contract which hadn’t been offered Admittedly quite a small window

Re: RFC/EFL Annual Fan Survey

I’ve never seen it happen or heard anything that sounds suspicious at home But then the idea of doing a line and then sitting and watching Reading at home in the eamonn Dolan is utterly bizarre. I mean I know you need something to take your mind if what’s going on on the pitch but not that… Can we’l...
