Re: Summer additions from the relegated clubs.

If Bullard doesn't keep Fulham up singlehandedly we should do everything we can to get him in. He's our type of player and so what if he costs more in wages than others in our squad; he's worth it. Bullard & Marek would be a fantastic CMx2. Matty Taylor would be good plus one ageing but still us...

Fae was indeed out of his depth, Cisse looked as average as he was against Pompey but thankfully Bikey won some great tackles in midfield. I was really hoping that Cisse & Fae could do a good job against Jenas & Zokora but they came out second best. Centre mid now looks a bigger priority tha...

Very well behaved L'Pool fan in front of me yesterday with his STH mate. No trouble at all. If away fans keep quiet then let them be. (Oh, and he didn't leave early unlike around a quarter of the away fans who were on the move with over 10 mins to play including added time).

Hahnemann Rosenior Sonko Ingimarsson Shorey Doyle Fae Harper Convey Lita Kitson Yep, that's what I would go (maybe Cisse instead of Fae) for but still can't see SC dropping Hunt for Bobby or Murts for Liam or Bryn for Fae/Cisse. We must go for 4-4-2; the 4-5-1 at Blackburn was very painful to watch...

Just checked the online ticketing on the OS and no royalty points have been added for this game. Presume we get 5 or 10 points as is normal for an away game. Anyone else checked if they have their royalty points?

I agree with several earlier posts that we'll go 4-5-1 but I expect to see Harper man marking Ronaldo. Also too early to give Fae a run out and SC will, as normal, go with the players in form/possession of the shirt. Stack Murts Ivar Bikey Shorey Hunt Cisse Harps Bryn Seol Leroy Fed, Kits, Kevin, De...

First 8 Games

Now I know that it's just Aug 1st and the transfer window remains open for another month, but given that SC has said he will probably only sign another central midfielder and maybe a winger (to replace Seol, possibly) it looks like our squad is pretty much set until January. Here's what I think will...

Villa away (easy away trip which I missed last year due to holidays) followed by Derby at home and Liverpool at home. Nice 5 or 7 points to start, then Wigan away over the bank holiday weekend (so at least 6 points by end of August).

1-1 (Doyle) and it'll be enough as Villa win 2-0 at Bolton and Pompey grind out a draw against the Arse.

USA

Halford, Doobs, Ivar, Shorey

Seol, Oster, Harper, Hunt

Kitson, Doyle

Fed, Bryn, Long, De La, BK

How come so few people think that Oster will not be given a chance in central mid?

I wouldn't see him as a replacement for Sidwell. On the other hand he would be a useful cover player for a number of positions. He was the best right back cover we have had for some time.... Err...remember Chris Makin?? Plus De La has done a pretty reasonable job. Anyway, how about getting Ricky Ne...

Not until we've done ones on Scott Murray and John Halls (sorry, wishful thinking...)

Defence pretty good esp when Sonko comes back, forwards will score if given the opportunities, its the midfield where the most concern lays for me and surely something sir Steve needs to look at in the summer Agree. Harps was really off today, Sid did OK but will be off and Blakey has now been off ...
