Re: Back from the game - Middlesboro (A)

Ian
Having seen us at 'Boro last Christmas, I was fearful of a drubbing. We were so bad that day and they swept us away.
With a young team,I expected them to bully us.

Re: Back from the game - Middlesboro (A)

Forgot to say I was a bit fed up at the end of the second half when we had a free kick just outside the penalty area but only 2 men in the box. Really invited pressure on ourselves by not keeping the ball or scoring a second goal.

Re: Back from the game - Middlesboro (A)

One of the 242. Though slightly less than that witnessed Nigel come across at 2.30 and applaud the supporters.
Scored against the run of play but well taken goal.
Luckily they were poor in front of goal- we could have let in 5.

(Not too much of a sacrifice as only an hours drive from home)

Re: Adkins popularity?

Elm Park Kid
For me though he'll always be the guy that replaced McDermott and because of that I don't think i'll ever really like him. I know that's not fair but that's how it is.

Sorry but this is how I feel as well. Feel he could have done more to keep us in Premiership as well ie no subs at Norwich

Re: It's a generational thing

My Mum's family were all supporters in the 1940's and several great aunts and uncles went to Elm Park. The club was even mentioned in the vicar's speech at my Grandad's funeral. Mum started taking me and my brothers in the 60's. Daughter and I attend games when we can (now live up North) Mum still go...

Re: BFTG - Donny (a)

Firstly an injury update--I have strained my neck/shoulder muscle celebrating the 3rd goal. :o Referee was shocking but as others have said this seemed to galvanise players and supporters. 1st half we were poor but the swirling wind didn't help. Crowd had great fun shouting "Ole" when we s...

Re: Summer Rebuild - Your Preferred 5 To Go?

Elm Park Kid For the sake of squad depth you don't really want to see anyone leave, but if it meant getting them replaced with someone better i'd have to say:

1. Kelly
2. Gorkss
3. Karacan
4. Obita
5. McAnuff

Not Karacan please...I might cry and so will my Mum and she's really old

Re: Back in the car (Leeds away)

Went to Leeds a couple of years ago- Are we sat in a different place now?

Must admit I was sceptical about the team selection. If Jobi had scored as well I think the sky would have fallen in :)

Re: faviroute away goal

Harper at Boro in '08 was awesome. Awful game at the end of an awful run we stole at the end and it looked like we'd be fine. Enjoyed that too much- Jumped up and hit knee on seat in front. Bruise was worth it. Also enjoyed both by Alf at Newcastle last season- nothing like listening to 1000's of G...

Re: Blackpool - back from the game

Vision I'm pretty sure that Obita's solid progression as a left back would not have been so successful (thus far) with someone other than McAnuff ahead of him.

Agree with this. Jobi seems to encourage him- unlike Guthrie who would stand hands on hips and shout.

I know there are tons of topics out there related to such a subject but don't give me that shit, this isn't a question, this is a statement: This is the new Reading anthem. oxf*rd sing it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZRSwqyKGG9s I like it. It sounds like a pastiche of a Des O'Connor song, sung b...
