Re: Renewed pessimism/interest

I totally understand that different people get enjoyment from different scenarios (e.g. just winning or valiantly failing) but sadly for the moment we seem to be missing most parameters) . Expectation levels were clearly raised after last season but even more so with the recent transfer activity. Al...

Renewed pessimism/interest

As I awake this morning and the sun shines through the windows my son reminds me about the performance of yesterday. Im still in a state of bemusement over selection, tactics and general thinking. Are we missing some forward/attacking coaching? ( Step forward Mr.Gilkes). Is Stam unable to adapt to si...

Dear Mr.Snowflake.
May i be added to your league please.
Not much danger to the leaders at this stage.
Sadly I believe 8 zeros may be in order at this stage.

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

Will be very interested to see how we cope with a Preston penchant for a high press.
How comfortable we look then should be quite revealing .
Fingers crossed.
It would be good to feel comfortable watching Reading occasionally.

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

"We ought to have really scored with the Green chance and after that, stopped pressing. Reading have a way of playing, they’re nowhere near good enough to execute it the way Stam would like and that is by and large due to their personnel. Chief weakness is their back 5, none of whom are comfort...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Preston North End (a) sponsored by the first long trek of the season

Preston very impressive in their own back yard. Agreed if Reading get something out of this (and ill take a good performance to start with) then its a significant improvement on last year. It will also be a nice sign for any wavering forwards who were thinking of coming to Reading before the window ...

Re: Villa Predictions

Villa to tear into us from the go with Bruces words stinging in their ears......if they score first i fear the worst.
Ironically Villa fans feel if they concede first they fear the worst.

Buttoned on 0-0!! with 10 v 10 remaing on the pitch.

Re: Plan b?

I guess he'll use one of the 3 or 4 formations we've played with this season, and perm 11 of the 20-25 first teamers he thinks will fit the bill. Not sure if I'd go back 4 with Evans protecting the middle or back 5 ( proper defenders out wide, not wingers !) Would possibly go with Yann and McLeary ...
