Re: BFTG - United (A)

Okay so you have no interest in discussing the actual game - perhaps you should avoid the BFTG thread relating to it then?

Re: BFTG - United (A)

Never in the game , at times the game resembled a training game for Man U , woeful mistake from Al Hasabi though both cheating git Young and their goalie should have been sent off for two footed lunging tackles , proved to be a woeful FA Cup draw , we move on No one player is to blame today. We are...

Maybe Kelly was too small for him to notice.

Surely not.

Typical Joey performance. 85 mins of brainless football masked by a couple of good challenges.

Re: Liam Kelly

Wiki says 5'5 which is more believable.

Decent read but a tad hyperbolic. He wasn't ready for championship football 12 months ago as demonstrated in his u23 performances so to call his omission 'shameless' is going a little far imo

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

Looks like we played a weaker team to keep our better U18's fresh for the youth cup game against Man City tonight.

Which, as it happens, is live at the Mad Stad so hopefully a few people will go along and support.

And yet somehow we're still 3rd in the league and 2 points ahead of them.

Go figure.

(entertaining read though)

Re: Anyone For Chinese?

Why? We don't own a stake in the club, all we do is buy their product But are you able to buy a comparable or alternative product instead? No, that is the point. Not sure this is true. Plenty of other football clubs or sports to enjoy. There might be a bit more brand loyalty in the case of a footba...

Re: Anyone For Chinese?

It still just comes down to accounting though. If the land had remained with the club then the Thais could have still just removed whatever income it generated and put it into other businesses - there's no guarantee why it would be used for the benefit of the team. Similarly, it perfectly possible ...

Re: Anyone For Chinese?

All this means is that when they sell RFC they will get less for the club than what they would have gotten if the land had been included. Ether that or they sell the Chinese the land at the same time. They're not making any money on the deal. It's just sensible financial planning to separate them -...

Re: Anyone For Chinese?

They came in, sold the land surrounding the stadium (worth £millions) to "RFC PLOT 1, 2, 3 LTD" (which they own) for a nominal fee and then sold the club on minus the land. They'll probably now sell the land on for a tidy profit (with PP). We've essentially been asset stripped . This isn'...

Very early days obviously but at this rate I think we'll probably be able to r8 him as our best centre back since Ivar.

100x the defender Hector is.

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

Loader has started the season on fire and is now away with England youth for a couple of weeks.

Remember reading a Spurs fan's report of our victory over them a week or so ago and it was very complimentary of him.

Certainly seems to be a prospect.

Re: BFTG Barnsley

There was a Barnsley player who literally pushed Gunter in the same manner right after the McCleary shove, the only difference was the Barnsley player was a pansy and barely made Gunter lose his balance. Well exactly. If every push resulted in a sending off there'd be 7 men left on the pitch by the...

Re: BFTG Barnsley

I think it's very harsh. Hourihane goes in nastily on Danny, then comes over quite aggressively to give him a load of abuse, and GMc just shoves him away. See plenty of similar actions in scuffles that go unpunished. It was just the exaggerated fall that made it look worse than it was.

Re: BFTG Birmingham

So 71% possession and the opposition still has more attempts on goal .. according to the BBC anyway .. I just don't get where this is leading, with or without another striker .. Maybe, just maybe, the team will develop and get better at turning possession into chances as they become more accustomed...

Re: BFTG - Ipswich home

Delighted with the result. Happy to have a manager prepared to talk about his philosophy, with realistic expectations and an acceptance that it is a long-term learning curve for the players. But really that was pretty awful to watch last night. Static and stagnant with fcuk all to get the pulse rac...
