Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

Tbf Kelly wasn’t awful that second season either, not for an academy kid who was still finding his way a bit. Obvs questions about the management of him

Re: Another 6 point, points deduction incoming

Think for the sake of general fairness you can’t leave it too late. Even with just 8 games left that’s pushing it imo

Re: Anyone For Chinese?

I have sympathy for him in year 2 tbh. We turned out some really weak sides at the usual injury crisis etc (the 0-7 we had Tetek and Bristow at Fb, Drinkwater and Camara in midfield along with headless TDB) And of all the people to blame for our current predicament (which really isn’t as dreadful as...

Re: Anyone For Chinese?

Most annoying thing was we were good for just long enough that I had to concede Paunovic wasn't awful, only for him to immediately flip and starting trying to prove that he was. He certainly managed to prove it in the end Difficult with Pauno sometimes - prob the best team we’ve had since relegatio...

Yeah truth in that. Actually get quite surprised when I speak to someone who is born here.

Whilst no one is going to choose to move to Sunderland

Re: Injury watch 2022/23

He’s only played there once this season! Away at Watford which, coincidentally, was one of his better games In fact he’s only started 13 league games all season. As ineffective as he’s been, he hasn’t played much really Only started there once this seaosn. We’ve switched to a back 4 in games at tim...

I had the impression that BT also had some part in that decision making to let that lot go +Fosu but might be wrong

Re: Another 6 point, points deduction incoming

I think that deadline was for new offences, not suspended

Granted taking this from the foul cesspit that is Twitter so maybe nonsense

My own opinion that giving us this any later than now would be somewhat harsh mind you

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

I note that another former Reading youngster discarded by Stam has been called up to the Scotland squad - Blackburn’s Dominic Hyam. Yep the Stam era was incredibly damaging long term From misjudging the ability of the young players through to signing crap like Aluko and handing out massive contract...

Re: Injury watch 2022/23

It's one of those, if we need a bit more defensive solidarity down our left, Baba is clearly a better option whereas if we want a more offensive option then NGW is the better player to have in that area whether that's as a wing back or full back. Same/similar positions, but different qualities. Bab...

Re: Injury watch 2022/23

But yeah not really sure how Baba helps us in any way as he has been crap in a back 4 as well this year He’s only played there once this season! Away at Watford which, coincidentally, was one of his better games In fact he’s only started 13 league games all season. As ineffective as he’s been, he h...

Re: Anyone For Chinese?

Being close to London is a bit of a redundant comment for me as you can’t get a ticket to watch those Premier League clubs. Southampton is a good hour or so away. Contrast to the North West/Midlands where you’ve got areas saturated with clubs. The state of how the club is being run is the primary r...

Re: Injury watch 2022/23

NGW is a wing back. An actual wing back rather than a winger or full back (or cb) being asked to play there. Baba isn’t If we have a back 3 of day Holmes, Mbengue and Sarr/Dann then NGW would be a great option on the left If we play a back 4 with Holmes and Sarr/Dann in the middle and NGW on tbe lef...

MartinRdg Luke Southwood called up for Northern Ireland for Euro 2024 qualifying matches against San Marino and Finland - has kept 12 clean sheets for Cheltenham this season

Glad he has found his level. Nice lad and deserves success.

Re: RFC accounts for 2021/2 published

OMFG!! How unbelievably irresponsible to increase our staff costs from £28m to £37m and then £41m whilst we're in the Championship. And without parachute payments by that point as well. Both those seasons finishing 20th for oxf*rd sake. Not only is it massive cheating, it's unbelievably incompetent...
