Re: The Gr8 Keeper Deb8

In fairness McCarthy started slowly at Leeds and had an absolute mare at Ipswich. He isn't perfect, but he's getting there.

Stuka It was a privilege to have watched this man so many times. Not only among the best players in the League, but also the most likeable.

Re: The Gr8 Keeper Deb8

Snowball mate, get it right, McCarthy has to C's - it's McCarthy. not McArthy. Anyway, gut feel is I more confident with Alex in goal, although I'm fine with Feds at the moment I hope that Alex gets the #1 slot back when he's over his injury. Feds is a good keeper, McCarthy is a good keeper that cou...

Nice one CanaryCanary, and thanks for explaining about Lambert in such detail. Fascinating and all too familiar....

Great win on Sunday, makes our draw against you look even better.

Re: Playing on the same side? The last taboo

I'm not sure that's the reason as gay people can still have children. It's more the fact that you want your children to be like you or at least have a "pain free" life and there's still a lot of aggravation associated with being gay (aggro from people like The Siege, that is). Unless medi...

Re: I'm wearing Nicky Shorey's boots.....

I'd rather Harte went to Burnley and we got Joe Mills back. Mills didn't look that bad once he started to settle and Harte's set pieces have been abysmal for a very long time, his positioning hasn't been as great and even his passing was looking poorer.

Re: do players actually read this forum?

I know that some have over time, couldn't tell you who if any these days. Naturally though even those that don't read themselves will hear things. There's always that morbid human curiousity and even if not then friends and family etc, will read, word of mouth etc. Case of the vocal minority in many...

Re: Player of the season so far? Select three players

Surprised there haven't been any votes for Tabb but suppose he hasn't been involved all season. But he and Mccarthy seem to be putting in the most effort. Tabb's work rate has been first class Shorey is #1 for me. Then it's out of McCarthy (for being absolute quality, but only played about half our...

Re: Playing on the same side? The last taboo

What do people make of the "SOME PEOPLE ARE GAY! GET OVER IT!" signs on the side of many Reading Buses atm? Taking this thread as an example, it looks as if the majority of people are "over it", or not concerned by it at least. Irritated me when I first saw it, thought 'why are ...

Re: do players actually read this forum?

I remember one of the 05/06 or 06/07 squad commenting about fans comments on forums pretty much eluding to here and I know the players are told not to but at least some of them do read it.

The Shane Long thing was a (very well executed) wind up....

Four days later and the more I look at the league table and results / teams played the more confident I'm feeling that we will be there or thereabouts for survival. At least we aren't cut adrift, yet.

Re: Everton Predictions

Tottenham aside very few teams have over-run us. We have in most games held our own, at least until early/mid second half when a change of tactics, tiredness kicking in, concentration lapses, a referee mistake or two (handball, offside goal), leads to us losing. Makes sense to me.
